Oops! Cat's out of the bag!
Karen
lol not too secret having a sign pointing the way to it either...hee hee
Looks great
Karen, LOVE your "secret" project and your Pieris is stunning! Your NOID Fern looks like Sensitive Fern which usually grows in moist locations so should be a perfect spot for the moss to take off. What a tremendous amount of work you and your sister have done! I'll be anxiously awaiting more photos as your work continues :)
Lovely, Karen, what a lot of work you two have put into it!
What a wonderful spot to develop. I love the fact that your mother is so evident in you "secret garden" That is touching. Great stone owl that she had. It will be fun to included in the secret through the summer. I won't tell a soul. Promise Patti
good luck with the project it looks like fun
Karen, how much property do you have?
In the post 6352248, looks like a perfect spot for a fairy garden.
Thanks, everyone! Jen, we have 1.25 acres here, but it seems bigger. People are always commenting on how big it is.
rcn48, that fern was already growing in that area, so I know it will thrive there. I'm just spreading it around more so it can naturalize and multiply. I also have a lot of what I think is hay scented fern, and it's very vigorous and spreads like crazy. I will be getting rid of most of that, as it takes over. I have other areas where I've got it as well, and it can stay there, as I don't have plans to put other things in those areas, and it always looks so nice. Fills the place in wonderfully.

Karen, that looks like a wonderful project. I can't wait to see the photos as you progress it. I also wish I were able to come to your RU to see it in person........what a fun thing to do....just think of all the new plants from your RU you can add here. It's going to be a very peaceful place!!
Thanks, Louise! It's one of a number of projects I'm working on this year. I still have projects to finish from last year that I started late, so did not have a chance to finish before winter was upon us.
Karen
I haven't finished last year's procrastinating yet - I'll get around to it.
I think we've all said that before, Victor!
Karen
LOL
Hey, Debbie!! How are you?? Is your dog doing ok?
Louise, you have mail :)
Your secret garden and path look like a wonderful spot...I know what you mean about not wanting to leave something...We will be retiring in a couple of years and we don't plan on keeping our NH house, but each plant we put in will make the move a little harder...but I hope we can find a little spot at the Cape (for a few months more gardening) and spend 6 months there and 6 months in our Florida spot.
Can't wait for the roundup.

Liza, nice pic of the butterfly on the BB.
My sister and I did more work on our secret garden, and things are looking very good there. My sister cut down a small choke cherry and cleared out a lot of briars and some saplings. She also put in some log rounds for seats and woodchips around those for a sitting area. I dug up some small stumps and dug a hole for a rhodie I'm going to be moving over there. I finally got my 'Miracle' heuchera planted, and I transplanted some meadow rue.
Here are some new pics.

Here's another view....
It's lookin' great, Karen. You and your sister are really putting in some serious work. I love it!
Love your secret garden, sisters are the best!

Thanks, guys! I am going back in the yard today to do more work. I have burning to do and more cleaning out of beds. Still not done with that chore.
Karen
I worked on my belly line yesterday at the French Quarter Jazz fest. No complaints about the music or the food. Lots of flowers out everywhere. Glad you all are improving the visuals in your gardens while I do nothing except veg for a week. I did get an ugly blister from wearing my flip flops for the first time this season yesterday and had to go buy another type of shoe. Off to enough the heat and more food. All your work is looking good! Patti
Oh, Patti, I would love to do a trip to New Orleans! I don't like to travel this time of year, though, when everything in my gardens is demanding my attention. I feel terribly guilty and miss my gardens terribly if I do. I like to do my traveling in the winter, when it's too cold to do anything here. Have fun on your trip!

Nice owl Karen

Karen - looking good!
Thanks, Bill and Jo Anne! Wish I could get out there today, but we've had rain all day.

Waiting for an up-date Karen. Can't wait to see some more pictures of you and your sisters secret garden!
