Here's my H. Carnosa 'Krimson Queen' I just love the carnosas which are so 'taken for granted'.

Still in full bloom 7 days later!!
Just beginning to drop flowers now 11 days after they opened....fragrant still.

Joni,

I love carnosas too, and have gone so far as to say they are one
of my favorites; and certainly underappreciated!

York, PA(Zone 6b)

Hmmmm...I guess my H. sp. Bicolor was not finshed opening...here she is now!
No noticeable scent at this point.
Bloomed for 3 days.

Wow, that is a beauty indeed! I've never heard of that Hoya, it is really nice, and if it smells like freshly cut lime that would be a plus!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Here is the first bloom of H. carnosa X H. obovata. I love this hoya because it blooms very young and profusely...unlike it's parents!!!

I love mine too..very attractive plant and more of a medium sized leaf...still awaiting the bloom though.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

OK...here is HSI-037,,,which some think may be the original H. pubicalyx....no speckles on the leaf. NOT a rambunctuous bloomer but beautiful....

Excellent macro Joni - what a great shot of a single flower !!

Shepherdstown, WV

cv Christine is beautiful!

Joni, is that flower floating in your pool?

York, PA(Zone 6b)

Yes Kelly it is!
I found it is a great way to get a close and unobstructed shot of the actual bloom...no hands in the photo.
But it's best to try prior to the filter kicking on...then I've gotta chase it all around :0)

York, PA(Zone 6b)

H. cv. Joy
Almost open...like the one that is 'in the envelope'.
3 days bloom time

Subcalva, smells like welch's grape juice.
Only one flower opened out of a peduncle, rest are in bud stage.

Beautiful cinnamomifolia!!!

Joni...the picture is full frame when you click on it...stuff happens.... :)

Pittsburgh, PA

All the photos are beautiful....I'm so envious....so do you think the other buds on the subcalva will open, or did they stop developing and will likely blast??? How has that one been to grow? Is it in a greenhouse or outside or in a window? Thanks....

Shelley

Cape Coral, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks Carol!
Shelley, subcalva grows nicely for me. Mine are outdoors most of the year, the buds should develop into flowers.

North Central, ID(Zone 6a)

My H. pentaphlebia is opening up. No scent at night, but spicy during the day !

Shepherdstown, WV

They really are pretty, Gabi!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

cv. Ruthie...she blooms all year here and is one of the few Eriostemmas (a section of Hoya) that will bloom on a trellis indoors...the flowers are about 3" across....

Incredible photos Gabi and Carol.

Doug

Whitestone, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks guys :)

Carol...which one should I send him - I'm assuming you mean the second one? Thanks for recommending that...what a compliment!!

Speaking of which, your pic is outstanding too!!

Gabi

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Yes, the second one...I think that is outstanding!!!

Carol,

I know we have a Ruthie photo in the gallery of Stemma,
but that one is so good.

It shows the inflorescences, un-opened buds, and the leaves!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

OK...will send it to Mark in Hi-res.

Yea! and for Gabi's too.
