Artemesia silver king.. great for dry flowers of fresh, smells mmmmm good!
April 2009 in the garden
My goodness blossom you are going to have a wealth of blooms if your sun ever shines. What beautiful specimens you have coming up there. Do you find that your spiderwort gets to spreading too much and then eventually wants to flop? I always like it when it first comes out but tire of it in time.
Dianne I never heard of that striata, but it is lovely.
Guess I better get my camera out on Monday next week as I have that day off.
I love Black eyed Susan!!
Blossom - the Valeriana is a new plant for me. I looked it up on the plantfiles and it is a lovely plant. I have never seen it in a nursery before. Does it make a good cut flower? That will definitely be on my wish list if it is. And the fragrance would be a wonderful bonus.
Black eye susan grows like weed in my garden and I have to really remember to dig out the edges and deadhead regularly.
Terri - if I did see your Valerian last year, I have totally forgotten. I do that a lot these days LoL. Maybe I thought that they were like the white version of what we sometimes call red valerian (centranthus ruber) , a totally different plant which I already have and does not make good cut flowers, but tend to be invasive.
If either you or Blossom remember to save any Valeriana seeds, I would love some for next year. Like I said, I have not seen that plant for sale here.
Oh yes, and here is the link to WHA THE HECK PLANT IS THIS!

It is Kerria Japonica! Golden balls is just what I call it.
Beautiful Candee - can't wait to see your white tree peony when it opens up!
One thing I noticed in your last picture - no tell-tale signs of snails or slugs!! So many of my plants have holes in them. Nice that yours are all intact and lovely.
