Ladies, get some Diatomaceus Earth at any Nursery. It's all natural and dries them up in no time. It's mined in Madras. Check it out, you'll love it!!!
This is what Wind Trek looked like this morning. DH is in the process of stepping the mast, we started to the other day, but the wind was blowing it sideways every time it was lifted out of the crutch, so decided for a calmer day and just tied everything off.

Weird weather of '09!! ... #9
Same Old, Same Old, Weather-wise today!
Tell me about it! LOL!
It's 28, north wind, snow here Susan. What have you got? Just hoping I don't have to come up there soon!
It's 33 and just a skiff. Melting fast, thank heaven! We're not supposed to have too much more.

It's just a good day to bake some banana bread with lots of nuts. :-) :-)
That sounds GOOD!!!^_^
It's in the oven; come on down.
MMMM..... I can smell it all the way in NJ.
The mini loaves are all golden brown and smelling like spices. I make it from scratch so I can control what goes into it! Recipe doesn't call for spices, but I blend my own and I use a lot. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I thought I smelled a 'special blend' LOL
LOLOL
So Mortswife how was the banana bread?
Where is Laurie?
What banana bread? I never saw any banana bread! I never ate any banana bread! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!
LOL LOL
What's in your special blend?
Had the prettiest day of the year today. I think we get 3 in a row (shhhhhh). Don't want to say it out loud and jinx it. Got some weeding done, setting up the tomato beds. Uncovered the deck swing so I can use it. Yeah!!!!
I agree Sally... the best of the year! and I was at work :-/ Oh well. At least it was a great day.
It was a beautiful day and today promises to be wonderful as well. Did some weeding, moved some herbs and added a few new ones, planted some lettuce seeds, planted some sweet pea seeds, and figured out how big of a raised bed I can put in the front yard. Anyone have ideas about how to build a raised bed really cheap?
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Judi, Us country folk have lots of "really cheap" options that you city folk don't. I have used deadfall from my forest like you would railroad ties and voila..raised bed. Since that's probably not an option for you, I would suggest pressure treated 2x8's or 2x10's, etc depending on the size you are looking for. Still not really cheap, but don't take up a lot of space with the edge like the railroad ties do. There are several expensive "fasteners" for this type of bed in the garden catalogs, but the metal ones that they use in construction (used on the inside so they don't show) work just fine, as does just using a smaller piece of the same board on the inside to join the two. I would advise using screws rather than nails though, as they hold up better. The look of these isn't as wonderful as the ones with the nice stone edging, but works much better with a tight budget. Can always do the pretty stone edging later!
Enjoy the sunshine!
Hi everyone.....beautiful day today and two more to go............had a great bike ride and a long walk today....two more to go! Antonio is coming tomorrow to get the beds weeded out so I can start planting things...I can hardly wait.....spent the rest of the day out shopping for Sages birthday......the families all went together and got her an ipod. Laura and I added a set of Polymer Clay and a Fairy Garden Kit. They have gone up to Port Angeles to visit Laura's MIL for a few days....that is what Sage wanted instead of a party. So I just get to play in the sunshine tomorrow!
Took a few pictures on our walk today.
Decided this is getting awfully long....will attempt to put us in a new room without Laura giving me a step by step....so please be patient...I'm not too good at this yet..
NEW ROOM!
