Congratulations!!!! I have named brugs but no buds :( Will take a budding Noid anytime!
Do you know what color it will be. You'd be like an expectant mother, pacing the floor, waiting for it to bloom.

Thanks Jaye,i don't know what color it will be.I can't wait for it to bloom. It will be like a kid getting a new toy.

So exciting when you get new buds. My brug now has 5 buds starting to open. I still have a lot of trouble with "things" eating my leaves and a lot of leaves turning yellow. As long as I'm getting these lovely flowers I shouldn't complain too much. I may have to take my flashlight and go out and watch for the nasty bugs. Waiting patiently for pictures.

Pegi,i hope you don't have too much trouble with them. What kind of bugs are eating them.Do you ever get Aphids? If you do get this spray for them.I get them on mine and i spray mine with it and it kills them.

I just use joy dish washing soap on aphids... just a little in water and any spray bottle.. I keep one handy and whenever I am cruising the yard in the summer I grab the bottle to zap any aphids I see... kills them quickly. My orleanders are aphid magnets so I needed to keep something economical and enviornmentally friendly due to the amounts I need to use too. I look at a cluster I sprayed the day before of yellow hungry aphids and nothing left but black dead aphids an happy plant.

We have tried dish washing soap.It didn't help us.We has rose plants in the green house to and they were on the rose plants and then made their way to my brugmansias. It works wonders for me.

I had some green worms eating my leaves at first, so hard to find as they were same color as leaves. Then I moved the plant to back of the yard and then the snails came along. Snail bait got rid of them. I've been spraying the plants with soap spray. I have only one blooming plant, but rooted a few more that were sent to me. I need to put the new babies in larger pots soon. I need to go out with my trusty spray now and give it another shot. Haven't seen any aphids on brugs, but they sure do love the roses.

Coushatta, LA

Yes,they do.

So far i have a total of 9 buds on my brugmansia.

I have 5 now that are opening. I'd like to wait until two are bloomiing before I take a picture. 3 buds fell off in different stages of developement, but learning to live with that happening. Beautiful pin, but so they aren't putting out a scent.

Pegi, go out late evening or at night. Sometimes just one bloom will bowl you over. LOL

I will have to take my trusty flashlight and check on my brug. I took two small ones outside and they seem to love the outdoors. Just so the worms stay away from them. I bought some of the soap spray and now I'm armed and ready to fight.

Pegi, sorry to hear some of your buds fell off.I hope that doesn't happen to me,but i know it may.A few of them have started pointing down.I can't wait for them to bloom.

Your plant sure does look healthy. I can't wait to see your beautiful blooms. I noticed I have 6 buds that want to thrill me. Today may be the day to take a picture. I have to go out and check on her later as well as my smaller plants. I think it will be time soon to put brugs in bigger pots (the ones I rooted) ,

Thanks Pegi, can't wait to see you bloom too.I bought a Noid brugmansia today and it had a white bloom on it and another one is starting to open up,and it is loaded with buds and it a small plant too.I bought a new digital camera today and i will take pictures of it tomorrow. It's just neat to see a small plant loaded with buds.I know it's not a datura because the flowers are pointing down on the plant i bought today.I also have buds on another one of my big Brugmansias.I think i'm getting Brugmansia FEVER.LOL!!!

I do have some pretty blooms now and found another yucky worm on a leaf. I'm going to have to declare war on them. I've seen posts of small plants with big blooms, pretty amazing to see a flower bigger than the plant.

Here is picture I took today.

Pegi, that is very pretty. The plant i bought today is a little smaller than yours and it's loaded with 15 or more buds on it.I was shocked to see so many on the plant so i grabed it.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

And then I took a picture of the green worm eating holes in all the leaves. It is sitting at the end of the leaf, not a very clear picture. Tatters though it looked like an inch worm. Yucky!!

I would have grabbed that plant too!!

Coushatta, LA

They are pretty!!!!!!!!!One of the buds on the plant i have looks like the one that is caming out of hiding.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I love watching them open up.

Coushatta, LA

Yea,them boogers hide good too.I have been lucky and not have any so far.

Coushatta, LA

This will be my first year with them. The ones i have blooming a good friend give them to me.Except for the one i bought today. I was very blessed.I'm so really for them to bloom.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I sprayed that plant with Bayers rose & flower, but I think the worm loved it. One of my blooms has a small hole in it so one of those worms got into the bud. It is supposed to be a double pink but I don't think the inside bloom will make it. I think this is going to be on on going war.

Coushatta, LA

See if you can find so of that soap spray above that i posted.Try that to see if it will work.My are still in my greenhouse, but the door stays open.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

This is really my first year too. I got the plant from DG member last July and have been babying her all these months. My first ever bloom was so awesome, just amazes me what beauty is all around us. This is the second time it is blooming and I surely hope it will never be the last. I have a yellow noid but nothing is happening with her. Needs extra care I think.

Coushatta, LA

The ones that is buding in my greenhouse i put plant food in the pots.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I did try the soap spray and nothing happened, but willing to give it another try. I wish I had a green house, but that isn't going to happen. Hubby set me up a growing light stand so I'm ready to try germinating.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I need to give all the plants a nice healthy drink of plant food. Nice if we could get a spray to make a plant pest resistant.
