We had a little pause in the rain this morning. The worse is still to come tonight and tomorrow. We had tornadoes to the north and south of us but the birds here were enjoying the sunlight. The bluebirds are doing fine.

luvgrtdanes, sorry about your aching tooth. Hope you get to feel better, great pix everyone. Here is a Cardinal for Burn_2007 since you don't get them there. I've a couple that are courting and building nest somewhere nearby the feeder, but I haven't found out the secret nest they're building. I saw the female yesterday with a straw in her beak.

Gorgeous shots everyone.

I managed to get a few shots of a White-tailed Black Cockatoo this morning. This one is a male and was waaaay up the top of a eucalyptus in our yard. There's been a flock around for the last couple of weeks. They are large birds, (21-24"), with the most lovely, slow, undulating flight. They are under constant pressure because of habitat destruction. The federal government very recently stepped in to prevent (who know for how long) the University of Western Australia from selling land it has held for close on a century, for housing. The land is one of the few remaining remnants of the Black Cockatoo's nesting ground in the metropolitan area.
