Guess what this frame is?

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

I saw the original with my friend and I copied it by bringing in the needed materials - SS tough wire and copper plate. Can you guess what this is for? Will reveal the answer later. I was happy that this little project was successful and the quality that resulted. The central rectangle is about 8x6". I know what initial guesses would be!!

Ya I think it is book holder..But something tells me I'm wrong..

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

i have many ideas but then.............what can it be!!

would it hold my laptop in the garden?
could it hold a bottle of wine?
can you carry something in it?
A brace for plants?
ummmmm...........!!!!!

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Go on, I think the picture is good enough!

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

hose rack for water hoses

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

I'll wait for another 4-5 respondents and then come up with the answer.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I'm dying to find out, although hose rack sounds reel good.

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Don't think of dying, sallyg. Wait on for the answer. LOL.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I'm wondering if the D on the plate is a clue. Maybe a newspaper or mail holder with your first initial.

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

Wild guess here. I think it's a plant holder, the long pieces go down into a pair of jeans, while the curves go into shoes, and the small metal piece holds the pot. then you don't have to go through all that mess of making your own, pouring the sacrete into the legs, stuffing the shoes, etc.etc. etc.
told you it was a wild guess. lol

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Excellent imagination! I'll not say anything but that, but that may be even true! Go on further. I'd like to see how other brains work!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Garbage bag holder?

Mississauga, ON(Zone 6a)

Does it snap onto something?

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

A portable, folding seat?

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

newspaper holder!

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

I've mentioned the dimension of it. Some of you seem to have missed it.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

i know its 8X6 and i know thats a clue!!!
its a mailbox a recipe holder?
hmmmmmm

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

I had to say that because Gitagal guessed as a folding seat.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

ya i giggled and thought dinu lost a lot of weight!! :)
so none of the above guesses are right i take it

THINKING|......

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

I'll make you all wait for a bit more. It's been fun looking at the answers!

;)

(Zone 7a)

I'm going to guess a wine bottle holder or really big paper clip.

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

Is it a picture frame?

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Hot lid holder (rack)

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Yeah! A folding seat for a VERY small midget!

I am intrigued--as there is a latch at he bottom that holds the two extensions together.

I guess whatever it is used for--it can be opened and closed....hmmmmm.....

Have any of you also noticed this????

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

I noticed that, but for the life of me cannot figure out what it is for. could be a book holder, plate holder, carrying rack, but what could you carry on an 8x6 copper plate? and the 'D', what could that mean?
lots of questions, how old is this design? was the original an antique? framework, lets' see. hmmmm,,,,,,,
I KNOW! it's a shoe dryer, simply stand it flat, turn up the latch part, and place your wet garden shoes on the ends to dry. it's a drying rack! (lol) I think this will be my last guess. My imagination has came to a screeching halt.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

mc...

That makes good sense to me!!! India DOES get a lot of rain in the wet season!
Hope you are the winner!!!

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

I know exactly what it is...It's a Whatchamacallit...LOL

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

for drying your gloves?

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

"D" means the manufacturer's initial.

I'm sorry I have forgotten to remove that 'latch' from the frame while it was photographed. Ignore the latch. Wait on... the answer is soon going to come up.

Can you guess the company's name?

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

dairy queen LOL

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Okay, here it is.

Some of you have guessed it right. Well done. But I just dragged on for some fun. How the mind sees the same thing differently when asked to guess! I'm sure I'm going to try out the other "uses" as "suggested" by others! LOL.

A good friend of mine showed his model to me many years back and it looked possible to me to make one myself. I derived great pleasure in searching for stiff SS rods - I tell you, cutting and bending to precision was a real tough job. The wire was really hard. Then I thought of copper instead of SS. For places where it folds up like a hinge, I cut up copper plate pieces and bent it up. Overall, it gave me satisfaction in making it, but I'm unhappy that I'm not able to use it for its purpose by which time computer had made its entry!!

Thanks everyone for your time, your mental energy spent!! Hope you enjoyed as much as I did.

Hay, Dinu! This was fun!
Do another one....maybe you can find some kind of 'thing" that is common in your country--but not ours and we can all play, again!
