annoying google-analytics.com

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Only on DG and very often, I am delayed a long time by google-analytics.com. Almost always if I click on the back arrow, the posting or photo I am trying to look at will come up. I have researched google-analytics and have found no way to turn it off. Any ideas?

Do you have ads turned on? I am pretty sure that some of the ads that are used on here are from Google so that would be my guess on where that's coming from although I don't know why it's slowing your computer down like that. You can go into "my info" and then "preferences" to turn off ads and see if it still happens.

There is a way, but it might be too fussy for you. If you're using Mozilla Firefox or Seamonkey, there is an extension called "NoScript" that will prevent Java scripts from running when you visit web sites. It puts an icon at the bottom of the browser and you can select or reject each script that tries to run when you visit a site, including Google Analytics. I have GA turned off. I only allow what I need for a site to work properly. I find that a lot of the scripts running are just ad servers. You can also temporarily set 'allow all.'

I'm sure other browsers have similar add-ons or options.

I have all the ads turned off on DG. I'm using FIrefox, so I'll try NoScript next. Thanks for the tip!

NoScript appears to have solved my problem! It was an easy download and is easy to use. Thank you again!
