I'm sorry Galanthophile ~ I missed your comment a couple posts back. I got all excited about the Lily society and just missed it. The pellet product you use sounds great and I would use it if it was available here! Manures are so good for the garden soil, and plants do so well with them, but the bagged stuff is really quite stinky to haul in your car, store in your garage/shed/ and handle while applying. I love the idea of pellets to avoid all that! I wish I could find it here! Who but a gardener would be jealous of the type of chicken poop someone has in thier country?? LOL :-} Thanks for the link! I'll go check it out.....

Lily Fertilizing question.....
Here are some links to try http://www.stutzman-environmental.com/suprgreen.htm
Wow, Moby, and it's even local.....that's embarrassing..... I'll have to see where I can get some to try it out. Thanks for finding that!
Galanthophile, that tub looks really great-and now it looks like we may be able to get something like it, too. Thanks for telling us about it!
Glad to be able to help. Good luck with it!
Jamie, I'm so enjoying sharing in your excitement as you discover more and more of the wonderful world of Lilies! I have several from your list of new additions this year, and you're gonna love them. They combine beautifully with other flowers, I'm sure, like me, you'll find Lilies and Roses to be an exquisite combination. Toss in some Phlox and/or Hydrangea and you've got something really special!
Last year I added a bunch of varieties, and about did myself in planting about 500 bulbs in the spring. This year I've been more selective, and have concentrated on adding a few new OTs, which have become my very favorite class of Lilies. This year's additions include: Maywood, Montego Bay, Bonbini, Belladonna, Baruta, Mistress, Time Zone, Robina, Candy Club, Holland Beauty, Pink Heaven, First Crown, and Lavon. I'm not sure which is more exciting, seeing the first blooms on these new ones, or seeing those planted last year put on that amazing 2nd year show!
Looking forward to pics of all your beautiful blooms this summer!

Hi Jamie68 and everyone, I don't know exactly what lilies like in the way of fertilizer but I do know about Lupines. Lupines add nitrogen to the soil. I have many Lupines in my garden and don't fertilize with anything ever.
