Preen contest

The gardening company Preen contacted us recently to ask if we would be willing to promote their sweepstakes they are doing this Spring.

You enter your name and address and that enters you into a drawing that they will conduct on July 1st.

1 person will win $2,500.
3 people will win $100.
100 people will win a $10 gift card.

Pretty nice prizes, and I've already entered my own name. ^_^

Mine went through just fine. It did take a few more seconds to load the page than I'm generally used to though.

I just tried it and the page won't continue to load. It's been several minutes already. Think I will just give up.

Ok...got it to work. I was using IE and switched to Firefox....phew..I know I am going to be a winner and didn't want to miss out!!

I filled out all the information but there's no place to click "Enter" or "Submit"!

Arrrrgh! I just went to their website and tried entering there too, it says to fill out all information and click the submit button to submit ... there is NO "Submit" button!

... off to try again! I wonder if there is a prize for trying?

You gotta scroll way down Lin...the submit button is almost at the end of the page.

I've searched everywhere and see nothing that says submit? I went to the website and get the same page so I sent them an e-mail.

It's still not showing for me. I even went to their website and click on the Sweepstakes area and get the same page to fill out info, but no place to submit.

Ooookay ... I logged off of Safari (which I use all the time, my husband tells me I should use Firefox), logged on using Firefox and was able to fill out the info and submit it!


.... very strange. I am computer challenged sometimes but that was weird!

Here is what is there for me . . . that's it, no name fields, no green buttons. Course, it could be because I'm at work and there is a firewall in place . . . I will try again on my pc tonite when I get home.

Is this one of those companies that want you to enter your info only to call & email you 5 millions times?

There's a little box you can remove the check mark from at the bottom of the form if you don't want to receive their e-mails and promotions. But, that's what most of these contests are about, to get info out there about their products.

plantladylin, you're right. I forgot about the "opt out" checkbox at the bottom. That should solve the issue for those who don't want coupons or other offers to start arriving in their mailbox. ^_^

LOL, I'm sometimes a sucker for signing up for all that stuff ... I went to the Preen website and signed up for their newsletter too. My husband keeps telling me we wouldn't get so many junk/spam e-mails if I'd be more selective about giving out my information! I am trying to get better!

I was always a sucker about buying everything the neighborhood school kids were selling too, and folks at work who had kids, and would come to the office taking orders for whatever their child was selling! Now, all the neighborhood kids are grown and gone and I haven't worked in a long, long time and all the nieces and nephews are grown. *** sigh *** I guess I am saving money ... extra $$ for spending on important stuff, like more plants and gardening stuff!

all that junk mail is great when you wet it down and use it as a weed blocker ^_^ teehee!

BTW, when I logged into their site, I had to click a button that said 'ok to allow non-secure items to download' so maybe the page isnt loading because you have a firewall...

Maybe all I needed to do was go to lunch! I just got back and decided to try again - allowed the non-secure items 2x (only offered 1 time before), and got the form!

I had HQ talk to preen, and they fixed whatever it was that was causing the submit button to not appear for some people (apparently it wasn't showing for only certain kinds of browsers).

aww shucks! that means more people will enter now...and lower my chances of winning! lol!

I am very excited as I still have about 8 or 10 big containers in the shed of Preen weed preventer, the best thing ever invented for a flower garden!!! I can't grow without my Preen!
