Rose...I love your name and welcome! Love your shots of the Pileated and Bald Eagle...you're so lucky to see them! Hope you'll post more of your birds.
Linth...Good grief how much did you pay those birds to pose for you? I just love that 3rd Grackle shot!
Here is a Harris's Sparrow from yesterday.
Daily Pics Vol 188
Oh my, I know what you all have been up too!!! Great shots and I can see so many new spring birds added. Rose, what a find, getting a pair of Roadrunners.
Lovely Pileated and Eagle
Margaret, I'm so amazed by the nice flowers and birds, you have.
Welcome Rose1656
Pelle, to answer your question on the preceding thread about the Redpolls and Grosbeaks. My last recording of the Redpoll last spring was May5, and the Pine Grosbeak was March25, Evening Grosbeak May 11. The EG are here year round, but stays in the wooded area in Summer.
One of the Common Redpoll.
Spectacular photos Linth!!
Really liking the Harris's Sparrow!
linthicum,
I'm not seeing anything "common" about your Grackle pictures! That third one is so pretty. I'll have to take a closer look at ours when they show up. I've always just been irritated by them in the past, but maybe not so much this year....

oh and by the way everyone's pictures were great-- grackle eagle, the pyrr, bluebird,
cardinal and goldfish and all.
My mom was over and made me go out and shoo the big bad birdy away.
spoil sport.
Excellent shots Jane and dirt!
I have sad news to report. There was a pine siskin that went into the stream to sleep, so I picked it up and brought it in to check it out. It didn't look injured and my husband (smartly) made me take it back outside immediately thinking it might be sick.
Didn't see it for a day or so, and this morning I look out and I see a siskin sitting in the middle of an open area not moving. I assume it is the same one and was waiting for it to warm up a tad more before investigating. Less than an hour later, we look up and there's crow with the bird.
It was probably already dead so there's nothing I could do, and I'm glad another bird may live longer by eating it. Still, you hate to lose any :(
Thankfully all your pictures can help take my mind off!
Sorry to hear that evie. It is always sad.
NM great picture of the Pyrrhuloxia!!
Nice variety of birds, nanny.
Like the Pyrrhuloxia, Jane.
Nice clarity with all of your photos, Rose, to go along with a large variety of birds.
dirt, also excellent series of photos.
What's that saying ? "A peanut a day will make the Woodpeckers stay" ..... or, something like that ...... I always make sure to put a few peanuts among the other bird seed.
There are just sooo many great pics here..too many "favorites" to mention. I just got very few yesterday so I will go ahead and post.
The Red-winged Blackbird was here a couple of times yesterday. Don't know why, but I just really like these guys. I wish the females would come around more.

OOPS! Sorry Nanny for butting in! GM
Good morning, Fellow Birders. Thank you, "Mrs. Great Dane Lover" for your comment about my little warbler. Rose, your photo of the Eagle is wonderful. Thanks to you, New Mexico Jane, for the photos. I have never seen either one of those birds. Dirt, my husband, who lived in France as an Air Force brat, got a kick out of your comment about the hawk. Nanny, I will be glad to send some of our tree sparrows your way. Linthicum, is your snow almost gone? Evie, I'm sorry to hear about your little pine siskin. Pelletory, your comments are always compassionate and upbeat. You remind me that birders are a breed apart. Have a blessed day, all.
GM, not a problem... :)
Love that White-breasted Nuthatch!
I've been ogling everyone's photos for a couple of threads now without telling you how wonderful they are. Please forgive my rudeness! I'm especially awed by the eagle photos.
I went to Brazos Bend State Park hoping to see a Bald Eagle, but I didn't. Did have a great day though with way too many photos to post on this thread so I started my own. If you want to see the birds of Brazos Bend go to: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/959221/
Here's a Cormorant in a tree.
