Beautiful shots Rose! I haven't seen any Songs here for a long time.

After not seeing a junco for a month and a half; one showed up today. Three weeks with no goldfinch. Two showed up today. I guess the snow ya'll got chased them back south.

Thanks Pelle..we seem to have a lot more than last year.

Frank...our Goldfinch have increased in the past week..probably some coming up from the south. All of our feeders are swamped with them.

knip, nice photos of the Muscovy ducks and Ring-billed Gull. Are Muscovy ducks domesticated ?

I am glad I left a couple of socks up. American Goldfinch.

May I add a photo of my "Lone Ranger?" This Cedar Waxwing is all that remains of a flock that stripped our inkberry bush of its fruit in Early February.

And this little Yellow-rumped Warbler comes every year, but stays only a day. Fortunately, I was here to see it.

OK, just one more...promise! I think someone mentioned snow on the last "volume" thread. We had this Towhee show up at our feeder during our last snowfall.

Thanks for your kind remarks, Pelletory. Rose, that is a gorgeous Pileated Woodpecker. If you can believe this, we heard one drumming on our drainpipe when we lived in Fairfax, Virginia...not exactly out in the woods. LOL

Now I know what I'm going to ask Santa Claus to bring me for Christmas. I want to be able to take professional photos like the rest of you. I know: practice makes perfect, too.

Yes, we have a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers around the neighborhood. Hoping to see babies someday.

Here's one that I couldn't pass up. He was only about 20 ft. from me, but the sun was on the wrong side. Got more shadows than I'd like, but still a cool picture!

Rose, my Fox Sparrow is long gone...I sure enjoyed it while it was here! I did have aTree Sparrow today the first in a week or two. I will have to upload pics later. No way I am gonna follow that pic with one of mine. LOL

Welcome Rose16. Nice pix. So, a pileated woodpecker is only 117 miles from me! LOL.

Rose, nice Bald Eagles photos as well as the Pileated Woodpecker. Both are high up on my favorite bird list.

I couldn't believe I found myself taking so many photos of the Common Grackle yesterday. However, they presented a rather impressive subject against the white snow.

A display of their iridescent colors .....

A Red-winged Blackbird ....... catching snowflakes. The Common Grackles and Starlings clean me out of birdseed. It seems as though they have a sentinel sitting nearby waiting for me to fill up.
