Hehe
I picked who Ladycrone was straight away - as soon as I saw the name :).

Seeing as I hadn't been 'there' for very long, I'm a bit lost on who the rest of you are, but I guess I'll work it out.

Oh, and I'm not the Gardengal from 'there', either - registered here forever ago, before I ever found GW, so I hope no one's terribly upset at me 'stealing' their handle?!

Let's party!

Thanks you all, NOT ya'll, for the kind welcome.
And, to answer all those of you who asked about golf and fishing, I tend to do both in the same place-in the water or the woods.grumblewhine.
I don't have mouse ears either, I'm just too darn cheap to pay to play.
I still post over at the appliance forum at that other site as, that's what I do and I enjoy helping people.
MzMunchken, we got to play BOTH days of summer here in WI.
Eltel, I began fishing as soon as I could hold my pants up with one hand and reel with the other, like about 2 years old. I started golfing at about 7 or 8.
I think I'm gonna like it here.
LadyCrone has led me into exhibiting a totally irreverent sense of humor. I had nothing to do with it.
Marcia, one of my best friends lives in Mt Horrible and I visit there from time to time.
Thanks again for the welcomes.

I snooped; I found all you interesting “mutineers” here so I signed up too. I didn’t want to miss any good discussions. I’m sorry I wasn’t creative enough to change my name from “That Other Site.” Now I’m off to the Welcome Mat to register properly, 'cause I want to use my good manners, too!

Well, here i am too, another "Escapee". Gee, was it only a year ago that i escaped from one forum to the GP??? On the run again! Thanks, Crone, for leading me here! Hi Ron, Doris, Gardenbabe, Serenity (jwj?), and Shrewella (i have NO idea! LOL)

So, what goes on here? Do we get initiated? Pass any tests? I hear we have to bring chocolate. Ummmmm, i fogot all mine? Are there pirates here? Thank goodness, no Spiking. Do we get "Daved" over here??? LOL

Time for bed now - i'll check everything out another time!

Midland, PA

Hi there, I too am an escapee.

Thanx LadyCrone.

Chicagoland, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi, y'all! Lady Crone referred me, too (thanks!). Looks like a good site. I assume the chat room is real time like garden.com's was?

boonies, MT

geez I am such a give away,,LOL,,and I even stayed away from my trademark commas,,lOL,,I believe it was pointed out boonies MT got me caught,,

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Toolman-You don't like the Trollway? For those who have nover seen Mt Horeb WI. Large Trolls of every form and color populate the downtown, personally I like pink flamingos better!!!!!!!!

hi all -- guess i found this site as well -- maybe a round of intros is in order for all new folks coming in? --

i am rosalie, live in salt lake city, utah, raise flowers, veggies and 3 dogs in my older urban neighborhood. originally from upstate ny, but been here long enough that i consider the west my home.

thanks for letting me (and the others -- you know who you are) in to this new party.

rosalie.

Welcome to my site, new friends.

You'll find DG is a different kind of site than what you are used to, and I look forward to your learning the ways of our community here and being an active part of our group. You'll most likely find this to be your new home online indefinitely.

Welcome to the family,
Dave

Hi all of you old friends and new ones too. I'll properly introduce myself at the Welcome Mat later. Meanwhile, I hope that the DGers are ready for all of the escapees from the GP. It looks like they're a right friendly and welcoming group! Thanks Michele with one "l" for arranging this little (and growing!) get together. I'll have my feet in both camps for awhile, seeing as how I paid my 15 bucks (4 cents per day) at the GW. I just can't stay away from this fine, fun-loving crowd though. I need my daily laugh-fix, after all! So, it's good to see ya Lady Crone, Doris, Tools, Martela, Shrewella (aka comma woman), Gardenbabe, Gardengal, Caroline, Marcia, Brad, Rosalie, and whoever else checks in here.

BTW, MarciaGeiger, I have a soft spot in my heart for Madison and the surrounding area. I lived there for 6 years. That's where I met my DH (a Baraboo native). I grew up in Calumet County.

Oops Serenity and Shrewella. In my typing haste, I goofed. It's something that I do often, so get used to it. :-) I recognized Serenity as the comma woman immediatly. There aren't too many from Montana who posted at that other party.

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Hi all! I too am a refugee from that other place. My garden is small and urban and overrun with antique roses. Even the dog is named Rosie.

Hope you all will be kind enough teach us the local customs.

Can I sit here awhile?

Big hugs Wolfie...

What took you all so long lol
Welcome :)

Prattville, AL(Zone 8a)

Good to find some party friends over here!!!!!!! Glad YA'LL made it.

Bourne End, United Kingdom

Good Morning Everyone,
Have you room for one more homeless refugee ?
A kind New Zealand Lady said you take in displaced persons even if they`re foreigners with all sorts of strange habits.

Now, I'm not sure this forum should accept this "gentleman" from the South of England. He comes with a dark past and some rather unsavoury practices (don't let him start talking about toads and rabbits if you are even slightly squeamish!).

Derek, I imagine you'll be accepted here if you promise to block up that priesthole in your basement and not to abuse apostrophes whilst in this genteel company.

---

I now have an image of half of America saying "Hunh???" and wondering what prescription I've been abusing.

Well, people, fear not, Derek will explain all.

(service over.... play !)

MarciaGeigerCounter and TrickyVicky CA both mentioned things about forever wintry WI such as the "trollway" which is where all the lawyers are.

However, they didn't tell you that a "Baraboo" is a ghost without its' sheet.

Yippeee!!!! Another escapee here..thanks Mz.Crone. Been glued to the TV lately...figured it was time for a break. For those who saw my post "over there" my Dad's flag still hangs proudly from my fence..it's nylon so can fly proudly in the rain. Feels good to be home. :-))) Ginger

boonies, MT

LOL,,derek I hope ya got out with your drink and bb gun,,suppose we should warn all these nice folks to be careful when walking past your porch

30 mi. east of San F, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL, Tools! A ghost without its sheet... will have to mention that to DH and my Baraboo in-laws later.

Citta di Castello, UMBRIA

Sono qui! Ciao da Italia.

Jersey City, NJ

Oh wonderful! Derek and Deco!

Dave - you and your gardeners are in for a treat. Ever dreamed of running away to live in Umbria? Well, Deco did it, and this lady can paint word pictures of Italy that their tourist boards should pay her for...

And our Derek? War stories, wordsmithing, and a sharp eye for a fake... This man is hard to fool, but wears his own jesters cap more often than not. He is Not Nice, and proud of it.

You can tell I have a special place in my heart for Internationals, right? We minorities have to stick together... lol!

Ha! Here I am. I'm incognito. :-)

Tell me my fellow refugees: did the Captain jump ship as well?

Bourne End, United Kingdom

Serenity,
Why did you go around warning all these nice people not to approach me as I`m armed and dangerous ?
I haven`t told them about your strange mystic powers...Whoops...

Decobabe !! Ciao, bella mia. Come sta ?

Really missing you over there so will be dropping in occasionally for a good laugh! No ethnic jokes, Derek! LOL!

Foothills, CA

It's about time you guys showed up.

Citta di Castello, UMBRIA

Sto bene, Derek. It's been a tough week trying to get calls through to my own in America, but all Italy is holding me like a mamma.
I had information that this place needed a good Italian restaurant. Anybody got zucchini?

Deco, I will provide the zucchini, if you make it for us!

(Zone 6a)

Hello-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o? Anybody here?
I've been wandering around aimlessly for days, bumping into sites that are hard to navigate and are very embroiled. I need to rest a spell; may I stop here----just put my poor feet up and put my head in my hands and catch my breath? Its seems very peaceful here.
Why, thank you! I WOULD so love a sip of cool water! You're very nice! Do you have a spot where I might just 'camp out' until I get my bearings?----I won't be in the way! Maybe I could even help a bit? I've a good, strong back and don't tire too easily! Thank you so much!

Greetings refugees. All are welcome who want to join this happy site.

I have crossed paths with some of you before and hope that you find us kind, helpful and generous.

Stay awhile and read the threads and get to know us.

Welcome to all.

By the way..Derek..did your tomatoes that you planted last year have good fruit? I've got some really wonderful ones this season. Check out our plants database.I've got pictures there.

So this is where you were all hiding.
Slide over and make some room.
Hope we don't crowd anybody out.
Seems like a friendly place....

Welcome to DG - the BEST place in cyberspace. The only bad thing - its ADDICTIVE :-) but....not as many calories as chocolate - vic

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Tools, It is not forever winter in WI, we get 3 weeks of hot/humid, before it freezes, then a melt in January and 3 days of spring in May. We have all the seasons. BTW, the maples are starting to turn color, the asters and goldenrod are beautiful right now.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Welcome everyone. I'm fairly new here also, but with the world turned upside down, been real busy keeping tract of what's transpiring, and haven't had much internet time. I'm looking forward to a long winter chatting with everyone over a nice cup of hot chocolate.

Marcia: LOL We do have all four seasons up here don't we? One of them is just longer than the other three combined! LOL

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I know there are other refuges out there we haven't met yet! so I am wondering if ya all are just the first wave or if you are leaving your pals to find us on their own! Did you tell them where you were moving to or are you playing hide and seek with them to see howlong it takes them to get here? :}

Bourne End, United Kingdom

Hi Melody ,
Fancy meeting you here. The first person I ever traded with.
Your tomato seeds grew very well.
I liked the Black Krim and Old Flame best.
They both had very fine flavour.
The beans you traded did not like the British climate though.

Zanymuse, any who expressed an interest were given this address and another, on the basis that these were two possibilities. We are a very motley group with very different personalities - hence alternatives were a good idea. Some of us with multiple personalities are able to fit in to a range of environments, some are the more dedicated kind who prefer loud or prefer quiet. Variety is the spice of life isn't it? And finding an interesting new site is always worth the search!
