I am a late comer to this one, but I love hummers. I took these pictures of a female and male Anna's a couple of years ago in Cottage Grove... the feeder was right outside my kitchen window and I used a long range zoom lens to capture them without scaring them away. They don't migrate nearly as far as the Rufous - they spend the summers up in the Cascades! The Anna's are kinda lazy!! This is the female.

Very nice photos. On one thread, DGers showed the heaters they rigged up for winter to keep those little Annas fed. I had no idea so many people were feeding them. It's very sweet . . . (literally hee hee).
Beautiful hummers, I have some that stay pretty much through the winter. I'll have to look up the heaters, we don't usually need them, but every once in a while.......
Maybe They will repeat the instructions for the heaters since some people don't remember.^_^
