That's cute dirt!
DAILY PICS. VOL. 187
Finally a Red Breasted Nuthatch appears when I have the
camera out but it was dark and raining cats and dogs--
so a severely altered picture to at least see the bird.
Hopefully the snow storm that is happening now will be
quick and beneficial rather than dangerous and seemingly
lasting forever. Be safe and warm.
Great pics from everyone. hawks jays robin cards and redpoll.
Most times I don't have very good manners but I mean well.
goodnight.

Jane, I've never seen a pix of those blackbirds before. Very cool.
Margaret, looks like they are a part of a symphony! Cute.

Dirt, you should put that over on the feeder thread too! I will have lots of those come wednesday night...I have a colonoscopy scheduled first thing thursday morning!!! LOL

Just call me the Good Health Ambassador....
Great photos, everyone! Don't know if this will work or not (new computer and operating system and little knowledge). Anyway, this guy was sitting in the middle of the yard from early morning until just after 10 am. Never moved or changed position except for turning his head and the birds more or less ignored him and visited all the feeders. He watched me as I walked to within 15' of him to take the photo yet made no move to fly. I came inside and had just finished an e-mail to the local raptor rehab person to notify him of an injured bird when he lifted off and flew to the fence. After a bit he flew away. Strange behavior, at least in my experience.
I believe it to be a Cooper's Hawk.
bjf826, he was probably working on his tan is all ;-)
LOL, you're probably right. He'll need to look into sunblock for his legs if he stays out in the FL sun for long!
Barb
Nanny, the worst of it Is the stuff you have to ingest the day before. think of birds.
Nanny It is worth the hassle. They found a fist size tumor in me that nobody knew was there. It was removed and still benign and all is well. Don't know what would have happened if the doc hadn't insisted that I get one.
nice all
Great pics everyone!
