Aloe microstigma
What's happening in your early spring garden?
Just let me get a towel to wipe the drool off my keyboard before it shorts out......
oh my gosh, delicious!
Your succulents are beautiful Palmbob. And what a bountiful nursery.
They might not be 'regular' but they sure are beautiful! The leaves on the Agave celsii Nova are so graceful.
Beautiful photos, palmbob!
I had no idea that there were so many different varieties of Aloe. Got any ideas for a 2 foot wide strip between the house and the sidewalk? DH wants to concrete it, and I'd rather plant a succulents or even an aloes as long as they doesn't intrude on the sidewalk. Those Bulbines are gorgeous!
DH is determined to find a Medusa's head plant. He saw one, at the store, but moved too slow. LOL. I have gotten the planter started. The soil is in as are some of the plants. Since the only strings of pearls, I could find (until I had already checked out at the store) were in a bigger pot, I was wondering if I should try to separate them or make new starts? Same with the Horses tails? Are they hard to get started? I pictured them descending level by level. Will take photo tomorrow to show what it looks like so far. Ran out of light, tonight.

doss, that is just spectacular! What a beautiful display!
That looks great!
It's going to be fantastic when it fills in!
good job! It will fill in in no time
doss, beautiful -your pics are always inspiring. Is that around a pool?
Yes, it's around a pool.
Succulents would be beautiful there SW
I had my first California poppy bloom today. Soon I'll be cursing them for growing over everything, but I do love them.
silly but what is lol?
The last two photos are bananas. Yummy!

that's bananas!
Yup,
I'll take more photos, since I can't get to the ones I took the last time it fruited. You'll be surprised.

Yummmmmm! We have native strawberries growing 'round the pond, but I never see any berries. Don't know if the critters get them first or if I'm just not seeing them. Makes a great groundcover. The stems seek the water so they stay green pretty much all year.
There is an ornamental strawberry that never bears fruit, that a lot of landscapers use, because it makes a great ground cover without bringing in pesky ants.
Mine are planted in a terra cotta strawberry pot. Got to get someone to help me move it away from the side of the green house.

The natives do bear fruit, but they are tiny little things. I saw a flower the other day and I wonder if the rabbits are maybe eating them before the fruit can form. There are a few plants - blue eyed grass, Santa Barbara daisies (they devour these) - that they just won't leave alone.
Ooooh---yum---fresh strawberry banana daquiris! My bananas never get a chance to fruit because they're outside and die back every winter.
When mine was in a pot outside, I had to cover it every year. Since I planted it in the green house it has been very happy! EB#1 has a special fertilizing formula he feeds it too.
I'll share the bananas, usually way too many for the family to eat. Of course a little DG'er told me I can freeze them, so now hopefully no wasted bananas!
I'll keep you posted.

Oh I get it now I was wondering how your banana was fruiting. Greenhouse!
Kc, I also have the native strawberry. My son always gets that fruit. I have it in a pot. I prune it back to the edge of the pot constantly. Wonder if it puts it's energy into fruiting, since I won't let it out of its pot?
