I hear ya! I have my pwerball ticket for tonight! : )
I spent the whole day adding pictures of my seedlings to my journal if you are interested to see what I have going on so far check it out. : ) http://davesgarden.com/community/journals/vbc/Meredith79/72467/
LeBug, it's hard to get seeds out of a tricyrtis. I have several varieties and the only one that produced seeds for me last year was a miyazaki. But they do multiply quickly on their own after the 1st year or two, so you should have plenty of blooms. If you want some of my may-have-crossed miyazaki seeds, I believe I have some left. Just let me know.
Meredith, Congrats! Your babies look great!
Man.............. It snowign liek crazy here. Tryign to get pics cuz it a rare thing to snow in central Alabama but it sure is today. Cold as heck otu too and yesterdya was in high 60's even with tornadoes and storms.

WOW -- i heard it was gonna snow down there. We dont have a 'stitch' of snow on the ground anymore. though it is quite cold. currently 16°
It rurnign into a white winter wonder land. Now it been forever since I seen snow, at what temp does it start to snow? Can anybody tell me. We also goign down into the 20/30's tonight. Thsi snow is sticking, is it gonna do damage and freeze the leaves. I got several hundred pots of mums out there that abotu 3-4 " tall already and wonderign if I need to go cover them up with plastic?
need some advice from ya all snow birds. LOL
Woke up to a dusting of snow this morning here. Just wintersowed a few more containers the last few days, so it always kinda makes me happy to have a cold spell after setting new jugs out.
Star, my Vinca are getting their 2nd and 3rd sets of true leaves now. I've just noticed the cotyledons are starting to yellow, but the rest of the leaves look healthy and dark green- is that normal? I've seen the way they can yellow if they're getting too much moisture, kinda throughout all the leaves. This looks different, and I'm sure they're not too moist- I've been extremely careful about that! Since the true leaves look good, I'm hoping its natural for the cotyledons to start dying off.
Star, new growth on Mums is frost sensitive, so you should probably cover them. Snow is a good insulator though, much better to have snow with cold temps than not.
Gemini yep soudns liek the cotelydens are gettignready to fall off.
Oh I froze, ran out in jammies and robe, didnt even grab coat, my hands are burnign ad stinging so bad, they got frost bit. : ( Snow nto so pretty now. don't knwo where gloves are and man that snow is heavyand cold and mix d with rain too. Ice balls, the pots all got snow in them, and over which i had off was ful of heavy stick to yoru ribs kinda snow and o that off and got the pots all covered, now it hopefor the best, I guess.
