Lingernot has taken a break since Friday, I have had to work long hours and when I get home I have to tend to chores But his adventures should resume tomorrow and then he will be leaving back to his home...
Got the Little Planters for the seeds yesterday, and we will be planting seeds which should be a hoot. He will finally get to use his shovel...

Lingernot/Staynot Gladomeer ۞in Arizona! (#11)
Going home? Already? Glad he gets to do some planting first.
His travels have ended?? Lingernot's mama will be happy to see him after all his travels and wonderful adventures. He has given us a few lessons on plants, animals and great open spaces.
But I'm going to miss him. sniff, sniff
Miss Jestr - don't forget to write your location on the bottom of Lingernot's stand! I almost forgot to write mine!
ByndeweedBeth must be very excited to see him come home, even though we are all sad about it.
I wonder what happened to Staynot.
We had skipped a few members on the list before, do they not want a visit before he goes home?
I think that folks tried to contact them and got no response...we could try again
I will be very sad when Lingernot's adventures are finished as I will miss him and all of you. Perhaps ByndweedBeth will post some pics every once and awhile so we can keep in touch.
I guess the sighting of Staynot didn't turn out very well. I think this is what they call a cold case. LOL Watching too much suspense on TV.
Lingernot, thank you so much for giving us a tour of your travels. Always hate to see a great story end. Keep in touch via your mama.
Yes please do. I have enjoyed the winter distraction, although I would have love to see some of your gardens in their prime. Everyone did a super job of finding things for Lingernot to experience.
ok I'm getting all misty now (sniff) I'm thinking of buying a plastic Aroid just so I can stay and hang.
LOL! You had me there for a minute. I have a couple but don't get one the forum normally either dahlia.
I am really going to miss this. Thanks everyone for making it so fun. I agree it was a good winter distraction and we're all going to busy in the gardens soon. But I do hope mama keeps in touch.
dahlia, you can hang with me anytime!
Dahlia - they told me I had an aroid and I didn't even know it! I have one of those long philodendron things in my office that just puts out shoots all the time. They described it to me and I realized I had one. Almost everybody with house plants seems to have one. So you might be "in" without knowing it. Or maybe you're way brilliant and you already knew that was an aroid.
No houseplants here cept for one immortal African violet. Perhaps I could disguise a dahlia as an aroid?
Oh, you should advertise on your local Craig's List or Kajiji that you are looking for philodendron cuttings and you will be inundated. I would send you one but the customs would hunt me down and probably steal Luna, and that would be awful.
I would kill it Dr. Doolittle. I always forget to water houseplants
Oh, I've forgotten to water philodendrons for weeks on end. They truly are one of the most impossible to kill houseplants.
Ohhhhhh an 'immortal'. That changes everything.
Hummm....turns out it is not a philodendron, but instead Epipremnum aureum, although commonly mislabeled as a philodendron. Still, survives most anything.

Awww Lingernot is heading home now, huh. What wonderful adventures he's had. I've thoroughly enjoyed going along for the ride, even if it was only through my computer!
I'm so glad there are other houseplant brown thumbs out there! I am absolutely horrible with indoor plants...I suppose ti is because I only water when things are really, really droopy? ;-)

I had to go into town for a meeting, and then I was promised the day off. So as I left the house, I told Lingernot “Get ready, Your lounging days are over.”
After my meeting I hit up the stores. As I was walking down the garden isle at Home Depot, I heard
“Hey Roseane” I looked around expecting to find a friend, but no one was behind me. “I am over here” the voice called out, “above the terra cotta pots.” I looked up on the shelf, and there sat a Gnome with a bird on his hand. “Lingernot sent word out thru the Gnome Grapevine that he will be leaving soon and was looking for a volunteer to take his place out at your ranch. He said the gnome selected must love animals, as you have chickens, horses and a boy, and of course a love of gardening as this will be your first year of gardening. We all got together and discussed it and I offered to go live on a ranch. So please won’t you pick me up, put me in your cart and we will be off on the most excellent adventure for years to come.” I studied this little gnome who had twinkling eyes and sure enough a brownish red bird that kind of looked like my chickens. Something in his smile was warming so I picked him up and put him in the cart. “You won’t be sorry you have chosen me, and by the way, my friends call me Happy.”

My Front porch has been a catch all for stuff for months, and I was tired of the way it looked so I told Lingernot and Happy we were cleaning it of today and when we were done, we would have a front porch that we could be proud of. We were building a bench to sit on, where we could watch the sunsets. We would have a gardening table to start seeds, and we would be getting just a few plants for the front porch right now, as it was still winter here and may get cold again. If you look close you can see Lingernot and Happy on the mess on the table.

As I cleaned off the mess of boxes and ran across an old friend, Hoppy who had been living among the mess. He said “Thank you so much for digging me out, I will make a great addition to your porch. I also hear thru the grapevine you have Lingernot the famous traveling Gnome helping… Can I meet him?”
We enjoyed drinks on the porch that night, all of us very tired of the work we had done.
Roseane, your Happy is one handsome gnome. So glad to see that Lingernot, Happy, and Hoppy helped you fix up your porch and planting seeds. What a happy group! You won't be so lonesome now when Lingernot goes home. I'm sure Happy is so glad you put him in your cart. You gave all of us such great pictures and stories.
Now that is a porch you can relax on. Good company you have to enjoy it with too.
What a great idea Lingernot had, to have Happy come and stay with you so you won't be lonesome. Happy will be glad he volunteered I'm sure. And what a great project for them all to help with! Now you have a nice place to relax after a hard day's work. Thank you so much for sharing the adventure with us.
Luvly new bench. I'm sure Happy is very excited to come to live on the ranch. I would be excited ^_^
Thank you all on the comments on the front porch, I am really pleased that it turned out so nice. A neighbor stopped by yesterday and brought some treasures he had found on his hikes, a rusted tea pot, a old coffee put, some rusted pails and 2 rusted cast iron skillets. They will make great additions to the decor. I will use the tea pot for a planter for my creeping charlie, and the coffee pot will hold mint and maybe make wind chimes out of the skillets.
I went out this morning to water, and the wind blew out some marker sticks from the seeds I planted, now I dont know what is in three rows of them... LOL I should have written it down somewhere.. Oh well the suprise will be fun.
I did not take the camera home yesterday so I got no pictures of a tea party, but will do it tonight and then send Lingernot on his way back to his momma in Oregon. Maybe Billy will get to meet Lingernot tonight...
