Sandy, I will look forward to finally meeting you!
Spring CS RU - Saturday, May 9
Ahhh I better get there I will miss all the hugs. Pray hard and this :o) (Me) Mountain will move and drive to the co-op. lol
You know I wouldn't miss it! And Smock will also be coming.
Sas (Cactus Lady) is now walking some with a cane & she told me Friday that she wants to get her DH to bring her to CSRU!
I lost my job in August & have been taking care of her for months & tomorrow we are going to plant some seeds.
But she will probably still bring cactus!!!! lol
Sorry to hear about your job - Smockette, but I can probably find something to ease the pain (if you know what I mean).
Sandy, we REALLY want to see you there. Your smile always brightens up any gathering.
Yeah, Sandy! Tell yourself every day that you are going to the RU and don't let the doubts have a chance to convince you otherwise. It'll be a fun day, and you know you will have a great time! Besides think of all the plants you will go home with. :>)
I know Pat but I love my friends more
The plants are the Entree and all my family is dessert
I am going to kick myself everyday ok??
Smockette I have your mimosa's still in the ground all over. LOL
Sorry you lost your job
Sandy, you are such a clever person and sweet too! I am looking forward to visiting with you real soon. Have you noticed how spring just flies by?
Pat, Sandy knows she is welcomed @ my place anytime she has the nerve to get here. It is no further to my place, than to hers!!!
And even w/o an income, if I can afford it, I WILL make it to a RU!!!
So keep on her, & I will also!!! She will be @ CSRU!
If Sas can make it, after all she has been thru since May 16, I know Sandy can, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sandy, read the above!!!
WE, all of us, ARE going to CSRU. You get here & we will get there! I promise!!
Love ya'll,
:~)
Smockette I will get there. I may just come the night before if Brian is not here. I was thinking if he is not close to moving here by Say Aug, I thought would be great for hi to come here and go too but the money for him to fly and move here a few months later would be way too much as I hope to fly up and ride down with him.
I made myself post I would be there this early so I would may be talked into it with all the love I knew I would get for support.
I told Brian today he better hurry as I was out using my electric chain saw today and with it doing that and my pick up All the guys were asking me out. rotflol not really but sounded good. I know they must think oh if I had her I could relax and not do anything. hahahaha
Love you all too!!! Smockette ask Smock about my squirrel feeder I gave him the jar for :o) He is a nice guy.
I know Smock would appreciate any gallon glass jars anyone has as most are plastic now.
Charlene, I'm like you... and to quote "I am a maybe. I really want to come, just not sure if I can make it. I won't make any trades, but if I come, I'll bring some good trades for random exchanges or to just share."
Ann, and anyone else in this area, I may be considering a ride share although... on my more successful plant swaps, I needed the entire back end of my SUV, so... I dunno (lol).
I truly hope I can make this one... it's been awhile. Just getting to work my garden the way I really want to after living here 3 years. It's kind of a chore to do an acre alone, but I'm hoping that it'll become my solice again and my peace.
Never been to College Station, and I hope I can bring a friend, possibly DH if he's home.
Carole, I believe you and I met in Llano some years ago at a swap and set our tables up next to each other. That was a fun day, and I really enjoyed visiting with you. I have wondered about you many times since. I hope to see you again at the CSRU!
Patricia
Counting down the days!! And it's probably still a tad too soon, but it just dawned on me when I saw the food sign up sheet for the RU in Arlington that I need to be thinking about what I'll bring.
Sas is getting excited about coming. She has talked DH into bringing her. Now she wants to know a time & when can she get a map! lol
Ok ... I know I havent been here for a while, but I am old and cant concentrate on but one RU at a time ... its an age thing and i have to remember where I am on this day ... at this time! LOL
Sylvia, I will remind you! Now, do you have Jaxville on your calendar also? lol
Count me in! Don't know if I'll have guests yet.
yes its on my calendar ... so was Palm Sunday. :( ... dont mean anything if you dont look. :)
how many do we have so far?
I have counted up about 40 or so, there are a few people who posted some maybes. I have edited the top post to include a map and directions, as well as links to a food thread and both trade threads. Please let me know if there is anything else needed there.
I also wanted to mention that traditionally we ask people to bring an item for a door prize for each person in their group. That way everyone goes home with something. These would be small items, crafts, pots, books, etc.
Thanks, Kim
bump
Karla and I are planning on being there, and maybe Karla's sister as well.
Finally I have found a partner so that I can come to the RU in CS. Put me down for 2. That's plantladyhou + guest= Ann + Teresa (my daughter). We have little or nothing to trade but will be bringing food and door prizes.
Ann
Only a little over 2 weeks away!
Sas's DH's brother & his wife are here fr WI so they will be coming with us also. Kim, that makes 6 in my group.
:~)
LOL I just read my original RSVP '...won't make many trades... ' ha!! I'm so funny!
Still hoping DH will be able to come. When he asked me what kind of food we eat at these things, I read him a few of the items on the food thread. LOL 'really?! ok now we're talkin!' hehehe
Just trying to think what we might bring though. Will there be electrical outlets? Place to wash our hands? I still think I'll bring some baby wipes, along with my paper towels, bottled water, Off and other 'necessities' ;-)
Haven't found any 'gardening friends' here that I can bring though, so DH is elected!
Cajun, I think Blue Eyes said we have electricity in the kitchen for this one. In the past, she has found us such great parks that we have had full kitchens! Restrooms, & even the kitchen sink to wash dishes & hands!
:~)
Nice!!
Now I have a silly question... is everybody bringing a card table or something to put their plants on? That's what I did at the Llano swaps, but I don't know if I can find it right now.
BTW, my DH is one of those that calls them all 'weeds' but ... loves that gardening makes me happy, so still a very good DH!
There should be plenty of picnic tables at this pavilion for us to put our plants on, but you could bring a table too if you wanted. And yes, we have reserved the kitchen part of the pavilion as well.
:) Kim
Kim, you take such good care of us.:) Thanks.
Excellent! Thanks so much!! I won't panic then if I can't find my card table, but we WILL be bringing folding lawn chairs.
Sounds like we will be having a great group this year as usual! As it stands right now, about 22 members have said they will be attending, with a total over 40! I am hoping that most people will be able and willing to donate about $8 to cover the cost of renting the pavilion. Please remember that this is per member, not per person. I will be picking up the keys on the Friday before and will be putting up signs. Please let me know if you need more directions or anything else.
Thanks! Kim
Kim and ev'body...
It's killin' me, but I have to choose my trip this time. I am going to miss seeing all of you very much. If I can make it to only one, it will have to be the one up here in east TX.
Again Kim, LindaTX, etc.. It rips me up, but I'll be there in spirit. :-)
Smocks and Smockette.. I will see you at the ETRU.. :-)
Debnes
just bumping up
Ok, update on mine... number stays the same at two, but instead of my DH I'm bringing his sister. He has to work and she'll be down for Mother's Day.
If you know my story, please don't mention how thankful I am to have the garden to myself - I know she wouldn't understand as she's not a gardener at all. She wants to start though, I think, and is tickled that I wanted to share this part of me with her. It'll be good for us both.
(And if you don't know my story, my MIL moved in before I did and started gardening first. While we did share a love for gardening, to say we had a few differences of opinion is a vast understatement. She actually killed quite a few of my plants, threw away some of my prized seeds I'd so graciously shared with her, and never had any sort of plan for garden arrangement etc. Drove me nuts!!)
Anyway, what time is everyone planning on showing up Saturday morning? It's about a 2 hour drive for us, and she's not a morning person ;-(( I'll have to pour her into the car and let her sleep on the way (LOL).

We usually start around 10am to give out of town people time to drive in, but since this year we only officially have the pavilion until 2pm, perhaps we should start a little earlier? What does everyone think?
:) Kim
Kim- Karla and I have to get up at 5:00 every morning to go to work anyway, so earlier is ok with us :) Besides, that way we could start before it warms up too much. Just my opinion, Jim
OK by us!
Yes, as I said on the trade thread, earlier is better for me too. Even being 2 hours away, leaving home at 7:00 is what I do every day anyway for work. I'll try to get most everything packed Friday evening so I have less to do Sat. morning.
Here it is the last minute and I have to bow out! That's pretty crumby if I say so myself. Last Friday I came down w/ "SOMETHING" akin to the flu/sinus infaction/blahs all combined. The most I've beem able to is eat and drink a little and sleep much of the day and night. I'll be looking forward to pictures of the CSRU. U'all have a really good time.
Ann
Awww... I'm so sorry, Ann!! I hope you feel better very soon.
