Coffee Break # 5 - Spring is not too far off!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'd almost say that was Aphrodite Allison..

Thanks Victor, made me smile at least once a day!
Brian didn't hold Sophie for a whole day due to this flu. She was so mad at him she dug his chest to heck the next day.

Thomaston, CT

Nice photos, Wren, Pixie, & Allison---amaryllis are Godsends this time of year. Sherrie, you're very welcome to come with me---I was totally pissed with my family, but feel better about things today! Victor--I used to love to bowl duckpins--don't think I'd be able to pick up a regular ten pin ball anymore!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh, Celeste. Now I know why we hadn't heard from you. I feel sooooo bad for you. I ultimately hate that kind of flu. It is the worst. I'm glad you're on the mend. Take it easy still. (shiver) Ugh. Your amaryllises are beautiful. My aphrodite is blooming now. Allison, I agree with Celeste. I think yours is Aphrodite.

Victor, I once bowled a 39. My average is about a 90. So you did good in my book!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee - thanks, Harper.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I hold the world's record for consecutive gutter balls in alternating gutters! Can you believe that I once bowled for blue chip stamps? Ah! the halcyon days before gardening.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good thing we never went metric or this guy would have gone postal.

I like bowling because you get to wear the cool shoes. I hope you're feeling better Pixie.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Usually someone else's cool shoes!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I thought women skeeve wearing shoes that other people have worn!

Last time I bowled was the last time. score 58. I walked off the team after 2 weeks.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm not feeling so bad now.^_^

That was back back in 1986. Now I have the seal of quality insurance!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Check out this dog.

Really funny, Victor. I took my cocker spaniel to obedience training when I was 11, but nothing so fancy.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I was reading a german shepherd training book and they have a chapter on "beyond basics" including search and rescue, herding, agility and then I saw freestyle and was like what the heck is that?? Too funny people actually dance with their dogs.

Don't know if I'd put it in the same category as search and rescue.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

It takes a lot of training to do freestyle. I have not get that much energy or patient to do it.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes, that's the one I've seen before, awesome.

Thomaston, CT

That was a border collie, like Patti has---we need to see what her dogs can do! They are a very smart breed---have to work though, or there will be trouble. Took my dale to obedience twice--they were glad I didn't go for three! And my pointer went once. She was obsessed with a puppy in the class, & was totally distracted---the teacher blamed me---end of class.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I think that's too funny RobinDog. Perhaps the teacher was just plain boring and the puppys didn't want to listen. That certainly happened to me alot in school.

Thomaston, CT

The teacher was plain mean! She had the second class the dale took, & then my pointer's class---never smiled, except for the time the dale took a stuffed animal right out of her hand & walked casually to the door---I was mortified, but she actually laughed---said no dog had ever done that to her--I can see why!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Well that makes sense. Animals are much more intuitive than we are. Your dale had her number right from the get go. Goooood dog.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I certainly was distracted by a few 'puppies' in class too.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

My demon child was perfect in class but at home. Lock up everything, batten down the hatches because he would steal or eat ANYTHING!!!!!!! Infact if he wants to go outside and play he will attack my feet, until I go play with him!!!!!!LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

great video Victor... I had lily in puppy pre-school... now she hates every dog but her own family ... sad really

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'm taking Wall-e for a evaluation and watch a demo at a K9 obedience training facility on Saturday.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

they let all the puppies loose at the end of each class... she would just hide behind me and nip at anyone coming near her.... I would always try to stand in front of her so she would feel protected.. might have been the wrong thing to do

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Just make sure they do not use harsh corrections. Back in the "old" days of obedience it was not nice. But also make sure they do not use odd ideas. LOL

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

"But also make sure they do not use odd ideas." uh oh no wonder I have a crazy ole cat :( He was exclusively dahlianut trained.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

That might explain a lot!!!!!! But I wonder why I have a strange doggy!!!!!! LOL

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

He's not strange dear wren. He's just ultra exuberant ^_^

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Well that is a good description as any for my wacky wild demon child.

South Hamilton, MA

Nothing wrong with my obedience school in the 40s--good demonstration doberman & several other kids attended the class. It was held outdoors. May be dogs didn't feel shut in? Can't understand letting pups loose at the end, sort of wrecks the whole idea of discipline.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

sounds like a puppy class, the puppies are let loose to socialize with other puppies, which is important to.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Ok this is getting as OLD as the dust bunnies under my couch. 2 more inches of snow; 6 more inches to come. This is gonna put a HUGE dent in the 'Wakening of the Dahlias Festival' parade :( :( :(

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh. Sympathy for you.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

dnut what is the date for the parade? we want video btw

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Wha it was supposed to be in 4 more sleeps but I certainly can't twirl in that much snow. I have a Plan B though ^_^

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Can hardly wait for plan B. I want to see the 'dance of the emergence of the bulbous things' again.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

you gotta have snow shoes.... cowgirl up!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)
