The last is for the best. Upfield's Coral Dream picture doesn't show the coral in her precious bloom. Can't wait for her to really fire up and produce lots of blooms.

Nice big healthy pot of epis, Gail. Lin sent me some cuttings last fall (Queen of the Night) and they rooted well and are growing like mad now. It will be fun to see what yours will be like when they bloom. As always, your streps and photos are fantastic. I can only aspire to have half the streps you do. Just beautiful. Must be wonderful walking from room to room seeing all your lovely flowers under the lights.

HGran, a great day for you galavanting off to Dave's and adding to your sinningia collection. Such pretty leaves on Aurora Borealis.

Lou it's so nice to see you again! I've got lots of pictures so be ready!!

Hi Nichole, Love the name on Rob's Smarty Pants. ^-^

Gail that Upfield's Coral Dream is to die for! The bloom looks like a sinningia bloom with all those little dots in the throat! The rest are beauties too!

Goldleaf I consider it very high praise if you think I've got a green thumb! It's so far from the truth .... but at least streps seem to like me and I can live with that alone! Don't ever come look at my yard though : ( LOL

HillbillyGran those micro sinningias are enviable!!

Although this month sees my plants taking a bit of a rest January was awesome, so a few more favorite pictures from last month.

An all time favorite, Sylvia ...

Roulette Cherry from mkviolets (I think that's the correct spelling) on eBay, it grew up fast from this summer!

I bought Roulette Azur from the same eBay vendor as Cherry and it too turned into a beautiful blooming plant fast!

With some of the lighter colored bloomers it's hard to tell how pretty they are with a picture (especially with my camera!) but in person they are beauties!

Edited to say this is Blushing Bride with all her pretty whoop de doos in the center!

gorgeous plants Brenda!! I actually saw spin art in person at Daves yesterday-- it is to die for--he didn't have any for sale tho--- photo's don't do it justice!!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

VERY pretty photos, Brenda. I do love Spin Art. Had one once. It died - eventually. It lived long enough for it to bloom once, though, remember Gail?

Anyway, I am taking it slow with streps now, and they seem to like that better. My Purple Panda isn't blooming right now, but I'm wondering if that is not because it is working on it's seed pod?

What I do have blooming as far as streps this AM is another little Bristol's Potpourri

(ok, that will teach me not to try and take any pix before coffee)

Jan, I see you have your strep in an azalea pot. Do they grow better in the shallow pot?

Hi Jan,ARE YOU GOING TO LOGEE"S????????????? Waaaaaaa I want to go too.LOL.LOL.
Would you mind picking me up a plant if your going? I will send you the money and postage.Hand picked is so much better.

I get my sinningia in trades mostly.Or a dear friend send them to me to feed my addiction.LOL.I will have cutting for you when your weather warms up.

Hi mortswife97630,the streps do love the pan pots cause there so shallow.I need to find a vendor that sells them and get some more.Glad you joined us on this forum.Theres lots of wonderful people here.

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Trying to catch up on all the threads this Sunday morning.
Brenda... good to see you again, and that you have survived the winter out there thus far.
I so love your fantasy streps, Helter Skelter and Tar Jar... and would love to do a trade for a leaf section in the spring, or gladly buy one from you, as I don't know what I have to trade!

All of your plants and especially the streps are just gorgeous!
I am determined that I am going to grow a strep to it's full blooming beauty!

OK all: I need help here. I potted leaves in baggies with light soil like I read. I just noticed is getting fuzz on it so I opened the top of all of them. Is this a good thing to do? They are under a grow light.

It sounds like they are much to wet and are growing mold.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Morts--do you have a spray with neem oil in it? It zaps the mold away--let plant dry before placing it back under lights. I use Gardensafe Fungicide.
Jan--not Logee's this time--though that trip will be soon and I would be glad to pick up whatever you want. I'm going to

You're not going to believe it!

I'M GOING TO

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

come on,come on,spill the beans.Where you going?

Lakeview, OR(Zone 7b)

Thanks, all. I have nothing like Fungicide. I occasionally spray underside of plants with alcohol. Would that work until I can find a store with this? We have one store which might carry fungicide.
