HI All!
After some sweet d-mails and a couple of very thoughtful snail mail cards I've decided to get my fanny in gear and say howdy again! No good excuse for falling from my posting ways besides a busy, crazy life. And who doesn't have that?
I caught up on a few threads and am happy to see the same faces with several new additions! Took me a minute to figure out that Susan had changed her user name! LOL
Besides temperatures below zero at night and in the single digits during the days in January my plants had a really good month. I was a picture taking fool!!

Fernwood's Morning Sunrise
February Blooms III
In the Sept '08 Fall gessie swap I was lucky enough to get a box from Jim with so many strep leaves my eyes goggled! I have been a bad leaf mommy and they are all still in their leaf pots but they are starting to bloom!! I need to do some potting!
Here are three of my favorites ....
~Brenda
Well that is not the right picture and I can't get the right picture of three blooms to post so I'll just say ... this is Pink Leyla

Finally! a Fernwood! Beautiful!---nice to meet you bmedel^_^
Hi Phoebe, nice to meet you too! I have several babies from Fernwoods Morning Sunrise that are growing and blooming from leaves Gail sent me. They are very prolific for me and early bloomers.
My camera doesn't come close to doing Helter Skelter justice. It is every color of purple (not blue) with lots of yellow through it.

Hi, Brenda. I've lived in Idaho and I didn't like the wind. But then it's snowing here right now and for the last 3 days! I love the Strep. I am trying to talk myself out of getting one. And no else is helping me so I guess I'll just have to give i to the voices. Have a great Valentine's Day. This day's for you.
Hi Mortswife!
Come spring I'm going to have lots of big strep babies to share as I am being over run at the moment! Too cold to ship now. We don't get the wind up here on our little hill, and I am grateful for that, but there is plenty of cold and snow!
One more OT picture of those beautiful bucks, don't know why they are hanging around in all this snow!
~Brenda
Brenda,
Yup I changed my name and I am so happy to see you back... I was worried about you and Nancy and now I know that both of you are doing great... You would be so proud of me I like AV's now and I can even grow them...LOL I am working on my Kohlerias now and I am also thinking down the road most of these are going to have to go as they take up allot of space ... Hey more streps that way...LOLOL
Your picture/plants are beautiful as always...
Hugs,
Susan
Beautiful plants! Love that the bucks were comfortable enough to rest so close to a house.
Hi Susan!! The first thread I went looking for after logging on last night was the one about Nancy!! Jan had mentioned that there was news about her and I had been thinking of her almost daily and wondering why she left DG so abruptly! I knew it had to be something life altering as she was such a familiar face here. I was so happy to read that she will be Ok in the end but sad to know something so scary had happened to her!
My Kohlerias are looking very good right now (for me!) so I need to take some pictures but I sure know what you mean about how crowded the shelves can get with so many favorites!!

Mortswife spring is an iffy thing in the mile high mountains of Idaho!! LOL But generally I'd say that there start being enough warm windows of time come April ...
Here is a leaf tray full of strep babies that I need to separate out so badly! I need to do some major rearranging to have room for all the babies in their separate cups though! When I'm not on DG I am also not working with my plants like I should. Just watering and snapping pictures but not re potting, or dividing out babies etc etc. Poor plants, they deserve better than me!

Juneybug there are a lot of "town" deer around here! I went for a massage at an office near the hospital this fall and there were 7 deer bedded down right outside the window of the office! I just figured they'd head to lower ground once the snow started flying but these two sure didn't.

Brenda, That Japanese strep is gorgeous! Might you be willing to share a leaf?
Sarah
Hi Sarah, too cold here in ID for me to ship anything but seeds right now. Come spring (probably April) I'll be sharing and selling plenty! Send me a d-mail and I'll save your name .....

Fantasy Tar Jar Roger , another my camera doesn't do justice to the colors with but it's a beautiful fantasy.
Brenda your plants are so beautiful.I am delighted to meet you.It gives me more pictures to drool uver. ^_^
Lynn
Brenda, i think the name is Hototogisu and I am positive I misspelled it when I sent it to you. You sent me Tar Jar Roger and she is a baby who hasn't bloomed yet.
Your streps make mine look pitiful. They must love that cold and cool weather you have. I have to fight the heat and keep the air conditioning down low enough for the streps.
Please post all your fabulous pictures. I am jealous of you having so many blooms............
I am potting up all day and your babies are bigger than most streps! We are delighted to hear from you again...................
I love all the pictures!! Post as many as you can. Thanks, Lou
Hi Lynn, I'm always glad when someone enjoys the pictures as much as I enjoy everyone's too!
Thank you Gail! I am sure you are right, my labels are a little water logged and hard to read right now! Most of my streps that are so big right now came from Gary Mikita last June. I am going to have to take them apart this spring as they just take up too much room when they get this big, but I am enjoying them this winter!
This is S Bewitched that came int he box of sinningias when Gary was clearing all his out this last fall. I've ended up with beauties from those.
~Brenda
Brenda, I ordered two boxes from Gary when he was cleaning out and did get some beauties.......but they had to go because I am so focused on streps now..........That Bewitched I had and I can't believe how pretty she is.......she left me before she bloomed!
Feel free to take up the whole thread as you wish with pictures........we love them just like you do!
Hi bemedel! I am so happy to see you here again with all of your beautiful plant photos. You have been missed. I am head over heels about Fernwoods Morning Surprise! Although that Hototogisu is not too shabby either ^_^. Now I can't wait for mine to bloom. Not to mention Tar Jars Roger W. The sinningias are overflowing with flowers. So pretty. Your green thumb is as green as ever.
I love the deer in the snow pictures, too.
Good to see your plants back 'on' the shelves ^_^
