Show Us Your Babies...
I started a new thread "Show Us Your Jugs." That title just had to be after reading some of the comments here. Sorry it took me so long to post some of my babies!

blooma -- those Ice Plants are not perennials for you, are they??
I just love Ice Plants.... bought them once, where the info stated hardy to zone 5... needless to say, mine did not come back.. since i got them from Springhill, [100% guarantee ] so i got more, this time the hardy said zone6.
In 2007 or early 08, someone sent me some seeds for a Hyssop, and when i sowed the seeds... low and behold, there was an IcePlant. i was happy... but it did not bloom last year and i know it wont be back.
such a cool plant with beautiful flowers.
tcs1366 Yes, they are perennials in my zone. I know that it states zone 5, but D. cooperi have come back for 3 years since I bought the original plant. Springhill Nursery? No wonder!!
There are other iceplants that I can't grow due to lack of hardiness. I have 6 different iceplants varieties, all seems to be hardy. HOwever, just incase, I take in a plant of each variety and grow them over the winter on my window sill. Like you, I love them also and don't want to lose them. I bought a new one last fall, with yellow flower that bloom all summer from the company below.
Here is a link where I buy my plants and very happy with the service and shipping. They have several iceplants plus water wise plants. You can order their catalog and sign up for their special offers online. My daughter and I just sent another order this month and split the shipping cost.

thanks for all that info. I guess i will have to look for a hardier plant.
Terese, I've read that cold temps are often not the culprit when succulent plants don't survive the winter, but usually winter moisture. I've lost any Ice Plants I had in the ground during winter, but have had them survive in a container exposed to the elements. I think if they're planted in a sharp draining spot where snow and ice doesn't hang around as long they have a good chance.
