What about a "Wanted Forum" maybe attatched to the MarketPl?

I have searched for several items and have not been able to find them for purchase in the marketplace. I know I can go to the Plant Trading Fourm, but I may not have anything to trade, and just want to buy a certain plant/seeds.

I searched the forum and didn't see a suggestion for this yet.

I'd love that feature! GREAT suggestion to have a"Wanted List" somewhere on Dave's.

If you find a plant that you want in PlantFiles, then you can add it to your Want list using the Click here to add this plant to your want-list button toward the bottom of the PF. You can see my example by clicking on my name and then my trade list. Then you can just post your entire Want list in the Plant and/or Seed Trading forums.

Sue, I know about the want / have list, but this forum would be more of an immediate solution to getting one specific plant. Thanks for the suggestion.

I rarely go to someone's want list in the plant files. I think this is the best idea I have heard lately.I grow so many kinds of plants and if I knew that someone wanted one, I would give serious thought to selling it.

I'd fill a lot more wants if I didn't have to go to each plant file or member's individual list. I'd love to be able to just read a list of wanted items. Like the classifieds in the newspaper. You look to see what they are selling or looking to buy. I still agree with jlp222 that this would be a more efficient way to match wants with haves...Much less convoluted.

I like this idea. Maybe be able to close it once you get the item. I will click on the the '3 people have this item' link from the plantfiles. But I am in the "don't have much to trade" boat or like Jennifer stated I just want to buy one particular plant.

You could post the item you want and how much you are willing to pay, including shipping. Then when someone offers their item, you can discuss and review, then decide wether to buy or not.

This would be wonderful! Whether I'm looking for something very specific (like 'Meiwa' kumquat) or for something more general (like "purple daylilies"), I'd love to get responses from DG people who are selling just what I'm looking for!

And on the plant page, it would be nice to have the clickable
place to see which
INDIVIDUALS
are selling something, not
just big biz or those who can trade.

I would love to trade but am barely Re-building my personal
plant stock so dont have too much to offer that others would
want.

I'd also like to see it made manditory that those who want to sell on the DG market place keep their items current and up-to-date. If they have a listing, and it's not for sale anymore ... then please remove it! I've contacted a buyer and haven't heard a word. Granted it is a listing from 2008, but this is what I'm talking about. That's why I think this forum would be of great value. I could just go over and ask ... "does anyone have this particular plant I'm looking for?" :-)
