Bald Eagle,,
DAILY PICS VOL. 180
Those are really nice, great close up of the Hawk.
Thank you Burn,,,I really enjoy taking pictures and especially of wildlife.......Roy
Wonderful pics everyone!!
pelletory.......A couple of threads back (volume 177), you showed a pic that you described as a female junco. I'd be more inclined to think it was the "pink sided" form (mearnsil). Check Peterson Field Guides to see if you agree. I've been trying all day to get a pic of one for you, but they are so shy, I could only get this poor quality pic taken through the front window.
Is that a dickcissel??? (We call anything we can't ID a dickcissel but I think this really is one.)
wow Roy, you have gorgeous pictures. You should think about adding to Bird Files.
So true, mate. They would be great for birdfiles.
pellitory......I just Googled 'junco pictures' and found "Dark-eyed Junco photos" by Bill Schmokes that shows a great collection of nearly every form of junco I've ever heard of. Check it out.
Thx,,,I will have to ask wife to take me to birdfiles,
2vernes, Your photos are wonderful. I absolutely love the killdeer especially the babies. Don't know how you managed to get close enough for the great picture. I have seen the babies a couple of times but never managed to get close enough for a good picture.
Donna
Excellent shooting 2vernes!!! I love the baby Killdeer and Warbler!!
avaeads, You may be right about the form of Junco. Thanks!
Mallards and other ducks that I don't really know what are,,
The others are Gadwall, and one American Coot
Someone will have to tell me what this migrating bird is,,,
Prothonotary Warbler
A Swainson's Warbler I think,,,
White-eyed Vireo. The bill is too stout for a warbler, also note the white eye and 'spectacles'.
Another migrating bird,,,
Dickcissel
Well, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sparrow...
Chipping Sparrow
Resin
Thanks for identifying all my birds Resin
Cool! I was right about the dickcissel. Hope to see one in person some day!
Missed this one somehow!
a few of my bird pics,,,This is a mallard hen
Actually a Wood Duck, male in non-breeding plumage
Resin
very good pictures!
love the blue birds!!
Thanks for the Meadowlark Rose. DId you ever notice how similar they are (stripey) to Margaret's New Holland Honey Eaters that I also love?
Resin, I'm surprised to hear that is a Chipping sparrow. I didn't think that the Chippies would have made it back north yet. I thought perhaps a tree sparrow with the chest dot hidden.
