Last one was getting long.
Let's continue, though we have to depend on Shelly for real garden shots with actual blooms and plants that look alive! Here's my nandina from inside a few minutes ago.
Garden Photos of '09......#2
its not finished the them my lawyer is looking into it since I broke bones and the recoup time was over a year he says that if I am patient they will pay in the end
yes for blooms we need shelly - blooms all year jealous - love the snow though
Can't believe the nandina still has leaves---only the evergreens have leaves here--& they are all curled up today! Scary accidents for everyone---seat belts saved the day!
Pretty nandina Victor. Looks like fall again, but I really don't want to start this winter over again. I have those on the "will need one of these" list. Mostly just white on white still here. At least if the snow would melt you could go out in the garden, plan and mark things out and maybe see a crocus or a hellebore bloom or something besides white. I hate white!
my little nandia also still has leaves. do they ever fall off?
Thanks Bill, you're funny!
Nandina shouldn't loose leaves!
Scicci... zone 5 is pushing it for a cyclamen, unfortunately :-( I've seen just a few do ok with lots and lots of mulch and fluffy stuff covering them. But, I've seen many thriving in zone 6.

I planted mine tucked beside a bush and mulched it so I will wait and see how it does
ooo nice delph babies.
thank you they are the multi color pacific giants lol they have a lot of growing to do hahha
Mine kinda rest the first year than SPRONG! 7 feet.
Nice job there Scicci. I love the pacific giants delphs. I have a few, but my problem is that I don't always get around to staking them on time and during the summer wind comes up the river canyan and knocks them over. But I still love them! I saw one once, didn't have money with me to buy it, that was a true grey with a black bee.... I'm soooo kicking myself for not finding a way to get it. But, it was a part of that mix, so maybe you'll have one in your bunch!!
That picture definitely catches the essence of a cat's life Jo Ann. nice job!
if I started them early enough they should hit at least four this year I hope I did four packs of seeds since I have an area of about 25 by 35 feet that I want to cover and I will be able to see them from the deck it should be an amazing sight if they all bloom at the same time the the hummers will go nuts over them
shouldnt have that problem I have 80 foot trees surrounding the area and the house will cover the north and west so I hope they will do fine since I am planting a huge patch they should keep each other up also
Oh.... sorry, I wasn't meaning that to be a detriment to the delphs. It's to my detriment for not getting out there to stake them. I still cherish the "cute Little buggers". Yours should do great... they'll have lots of strength in numbers!
Very nice! Nandina is evergreen. Of course, they do drop the older leaves and get new ones. One of my favorite plants.
I am dreaming every night of hummers and flowers everywhere and then morning comes and all I see is snow and more snow
starting seeds is the only thing that makes me happy at this point
they are seeds about the same size as columbines black and small
google image delphiniums they will come up or daves plant files
Herbaceous perennials. Easy to grow from seeds.
Your delph babies are looking good Mona. So is your jack and kitty. They look very friendly and happy to me.
Joann your cuttings and cat are very regal looking. You picked the purrrrfect title for the portrait.
Sherrie here is a link for you. There are a ton of different delphs for you t look at, just scroll down and take your pick and browse. A nice activity on a cold feb. evening. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=delphinium&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&searcher%5Bgrex%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search
no larkspur is an annual or a bi-annual and yes some companies try to confuse you b ut delphiniums are perennials they look alike but delphs have closer, larger blooms and up close you can really tell they are different they are also taller thicker stems
Great shot Evie. I have some very similar "art work" here across the back corner of the yard coming and going to where the bird feeder is. Also some dots and dashes from the squirrels hoping over the snow. You did a good job showing the contrast and shadows. I hope the four legged artists go elsewhere when spring finally arrives.
holly bambi has been busy at your house
saw a few tracks last weekend but nothing like that you must have a heard of them over there, lots of bambis hahhahahah
always a treat to see your gardens Bill
