March RoundUp plants

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Kathleen;
Thank you so much for being such a gracious hostess. And thank you to John as well. It is so nice to be able to put personalities and faces with the names. Such good soups and kanita's lemon bars were well worth the wait. Sorry you had a tough time in that L.A. traffic getting here. And robcorreia, just hang in there, you'll find a job doing what you want. Remember, if you earn your living doing something you love, you'll never have to work again. And Donna, what an honor to meet the ORIGINAL SoCal. I'm touched. (or so I've been told) Thanks everyone for having me and making me feel so welcome in my new California home.

Well, you were just great to have around, too, Pirate. And those biscuits and jam were to die for!

It was so nice to meet you also. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with this wonderful group. Oh yes, those biscuits and jam were so yummy. :-)

Donna, the Original.....hahahahaha

Forgot to ask everyone while you were here - anyone familiar with knockout roses and would they serve as a screen on the side of the property where our neighbor has his trucks, etc.? I saw them on Paul James's program and he said they were pretty much maintenance free - no pruning, not a lot of water needed, etc. We thought they might add some color and do the job at the same time. I don't want anything fussy.

Comments?

Mom and I are here looking at pictures. You still there?

Ooops, looks like I missed you.

She had fun. Liked all the pictures.

Kathleen: I think Knockout roses would do fine for that spot. I'm assuming it faces either west or south ? (Hard to tell since the sun wsn't really "out" for most of the day..)

You could also do the Meidiland ground cover roses...they grow really fast and you won't have to fuss with them...just let them take over. (Think of your Lady Banks growing horizontally instead of vertically and that's what they'll do.) Great color display when they bloom, too.

Try googling the name Meidiland roses.

They have a new yellow variety out this year that I like - DH is not thrilled with the idea, though.

Meidiland sounds like it would become a 'thorny' problem on our slope. Apparently they need shearing to look good.

Hello friends!

SW, it was so great finally meeting you. Thank you for the cuttings!
Jasperdale, great to finally put a face to the name, my calla lily hero!
Desert Pirate, I really enjoyed our conversation. Thank you so much for encouraging me on my new endeavors!

Guys, you are really an awesome group to hang out with. Thank you all so much for your generosity, I have already planted my gazillion new plants in the garden! Oh, and thank you all for the wonderful food. Everything was delicious! : ))

We're awfully glad that you came and joined us...it's good to get new people and we do / did seem to have a pretty good group, huh?

Yep, we're wonderful. :-)

And not the least conceited!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

It's not conceit when it's true. LOL. Not to mention we are singing each other's praises.
I had a great time meeting all the faces, feeding said faces, swapping plants, and just plain enjoying the conversation and company.
I'll be posting photos as I'm able to get everything planted. I am posting the only photo I took of people. I was too busy taking photo's of Kathleen and John's lovely landscaping.
Feeling guilty because the only one I recognize for sure is my DH. Picnic table is full of people chatting away. Kanita, got to thank you for those Iris. DH actually remembers it's name too! LOL!
Feel very Blessed and Enriched by meeting everyone.
Walk In Beauty!
