LOL! I'm selling off most of mine, though I'm thinking of putting in a container in the ground just to have some of it and keep it under control.

Planning a summer roundup at my place. Any Interest?
Loosestrife should be destroyed, not sold or traded. Spiderwort can be several kinds. The one that spreads by runners is sometimes known as wandering jew. The tratescansia we have--Concord grape & snow cap does not spread that way--normal plant.
I have so much of that wandering Jew type of trad that I despair of ever getting rid of it all. The gooseneck loosestrife is easier to get rid of than the tradescantia! I have other types of trads that are more well behaved, though they do readily seed in and it pops up here and there. And the clumps get huge! With all the rain we've had they've all gotten knocked down and really look bad. Poo!

Mine is looking really pretty - we have it blooming among the dayliles. Too bad about yours. If I should miss your RU, Karen, will you send some with Sharon, please? (The transcendentia, not the purple loosestrife!)
Ha! Actually, my loosestrife is the gooseneck kind ( http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/656/ read the comments by DG members on this plant), which is Lysimachia clethroides, not the purple kind, which is lythrum. Though Lythrum salicaria is gorgeous en-mass, IMO, I would not grow it for the fact that it is classified as an invasive species that crowds out natives.
Karen
Way different plant, Karen, indeed!!
I like the Gooseneck, a lot, and probably would be more into the wild form if it weren't so incredibly invasive.
Is that what that is? I have that all over the place. I don't remember ever seeing it before I bought this house.
I had it ID-ed right here on DG. A Native that blooms in June under the power lines that run through a local park. It's not a garden specimen but pretty none the less.

I just remembered something else I could bring for the plant trade.
Year old Reliance Grape vine cuttings. See the info here at Miller Nurseries http://www.millernurseries.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=451 where I got mine.
Red, super sweet, seedless. It takes 4 years to start getting fruit and you will need a sunny spot for this fast growing vine. If you ever thought about grapes this is an easy one that bares earlier than most with 'get your hands sticky' sweetness.
They will have to be dug up and offered as bare root so I'm taking orders. It's not the best time to transplant them but they should be OK. I have at least 6.
This is mine at age 7 last September.

That whorled loosestrife is pretty, Andy. I don't know anything about it. I have a loosestrife called 'Alexander's'. It's variegated and non-invasive.
I will pass on the grapes, Andy. Why don't you go ahead an post on my official RU thread: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/948734/ as well as the sign up thread for plants you're bringing for trade, and mention you're taking orders.
Karen
The Loosestrife was found under the power lines going through Ames Nowell park in Abington.
The grapes are tough to pass along. They are easy enough but take lots of room. I can add them to what I'm bringing.
Hello, everyone,
I have some sad news. A Yankee Cat (Memory) will not be able to make it to the RU. She has other commitments. She was going to give Dave47 a ride. Is there anyone in his area (southern CT) who could give him a ride? I don't know where, exactly, he lives. Dave, this is where you can chime in. I am disappointed that Memory can't join us. Let's all make some memories for Memory!
Karen
Rats, I would but I'll be coming from Rhode Island.
Oh, bummer, Susan!
Karen
Bummer! Two great people I'll sorely miss. I'll be coming Saturday and staying overnight at a friend's. I'll be happy to drive you Dave, if you want to stay overnight somewhere.
Thanks for the offer Harper(and the concern Karen & Susan) but I was just coming to this thread to say I can no longer make it. I will be in NY for the weekend.
I hope everyone has a great time. I will miss seeing everyone.
Dave
Well, have a nice time in NY, Dave. I'm sorry I won't get a chance to meet you, but another time, perhaps.
Karen
Me too Karen! Thanks for the invite.
