Hello, all!
I was just thinking about summer and roundups. I would like to do one at my place in July when all my daylilies are blooming. I was thinking of doing it on July 19th, which is a Sunday. Anyone interested? If I can get at least 5 people interested, then I'll do it.
Karen
I'm editing this post to say that I've decided to go ahead and do this thing. I started a thread in the RU forum. Here is the link: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/948734/ Also in that thread I have posted links to other threads that I started for sign ups for the Door Prize Drawing, the Pot Luck Luncheon and what you would like to bring for the plant/seed swap (just a note: for those who cannot bring plants/seeds to swap or donate and item for the drawing, don't worry about it, just bring a food item and yourself and guests. I will still be happy to show you around my gardens and meet and greet. ^_^)

Planning a summer roundup at my place. Any Interest?
How far away is Halifax from anywhere? Can you give me a reference? I traditionally get lost on the way to RU's.
Halifax is near Plymouth, MA, in southeastern MA.
Karen
OK. I might be able to come. Is it flat (your place) or very hilly?
You are pretty close to me, almost due east. No trouble with the traveling but getting a Mom sitter is another matter all together. I will have to work on it, sounds lovely Karen.
Carrie, my place is mostly flat.
Pat, you could bring you Mom if she doesn't have a problem going out. I usually bring my Dad places with me, and he loves the chance to get out.
Karen
Alas - July 19th is not possible for me - but everyone else, you really should go - I bet the gardens are gorgeous!
Karen, you should do an e-mail blast to every one in MA, or in 02___, or something, maybe... or post a link to this thread on another thread.
it's a hike for me... but I will keep it in mind
I think that would be almost 500 miles for me .... over 8 hours driving, I bet!
Thank-you for the Mom invite Karen but she doesn't do more than a short trip now a days. Three hours then a nap is needed. She will be 96 this april. If you get enough people to do this, I can try to needle my sister to take her for a day maybe. I would certainly welcome a day out just for fun and seeing your garden at its peak bloom.
Hey Karen, how nice of you to offer this. I'd love to see your daylilies and your place is only an hour from mine. Sign me up!
Thanks for the invite, Karen. I would if I could. Maybe sometime.
I'll mark it on my calendar, but no promises yet. I'm only about 1/2 hour away.
CCG and John and Liza, it will be nice to see you guys. I'm sorry others will not be able to make it.
I have about 10 chairs here, and I may get more before the RU date gets here. I may have to have some people bring chairs, but I'm hoping not to. Just brings yourselves, a couple guests if you wish, and some sort of food dish. We can chat and eat and trade and chat and eat. He, hee! This will be fun.
Karen
Hey, everyone, I have decided to go ahead and do this thing on the date I have stated, and I edited my first entry in this thread to include a link to a thread I started in the RU forums. Woo hoo! I can't wait for summer!!!!!
Karen
A definite probably from me. Dave47 - need a ride?
Great, Memory!
Karen
OK, I am putting this on my calendar tonight.
Great, Carrie! Here is the link to my official announcement of the RU in the RU thread.

My goodness, how terrifically organized!
Thanks! I just checked out how other people were doing theirs and took lessons from their posts. Took a little while to put it all together, but not as long as I thought it would take. I had to look up HTML codes for putting in bold and underlining.
Karen
Hi Karen. What a lovely thing for you to do! I am very impressed with how organized you are! I'm so sorry that I won't be able to make it. That is my birthday weekend and my son will be visiting us in NH. I'm sure you will all have a wonderful time and I hope you'll post tons of photos for the rest of us to enjoy vicariously!
Louise
Unfortunately too far for me....have fun y'all!
Thanks, Louise, and I'm sure we will have lots of fun. Sorry you can't make it, Jen. We'll all be thinking of you.
Karen
I'm thinking about it--it's hard for my DH to travel, but I know he would love to see Plymouth's Old Fort House, because that is his heritage. It is day-to-day with his health, so I'll know more in late June, it that's OK.
That's fine, Robin. I would love to have you guys if he is able to come.
Karen
bump
timely bump too - summer seems soooo far away today!
cindyeo - what is a bump? I've seen it from time to time, but don't know what that means. duh. Thanks. Louise
Sherrie is right - just so the thread doesn't get lost or forgotten.
Oh, now I get it! Thanks, Sherrie and Carrie (nice rhyme). LOL
Hi Karen, just saw this one today... I just have to check and see if that is a weekend I am working... if not I will be there!
Karen, I'd love to come, there's no doubt about that, but it's a long way for me. I'm going to have to decline, I'm afraid. I hope you'll accept me if I change my mind last minute!
Harper
Harper, it's no problem if you change your mind the last minute. No problem at all.
Kassia, I would be happy to have you come. I hope you can make it.
