The Chatty Amaryllis Coop (let's keep it going) #2

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

I'm going to try them anyway goofy. Jeanette

(Cathy), MO

Hi all. I have my last bulbs from the coop opening. Aphrodite. Just one so far. There are 3 bulbs in the pot.
Pretty bloom onewish, whatever it is. :-) Hopefully, whoever we go with this fall, will have the bulbs seperated and labeled better than this last warehouse.

Here is Dancing Queen putting on a nice show.

guess I will change that tag to dancing queen... LOL

the good news is I was fighting myself not to buy anymore but really liked that one

Richland, MI(Zone 5b)

It looks like this one is the last flowering for me this season... Picotee took (a lot of) his time to flower... but hey, that's a great bloom!

Didn't flower: Dancing Queen and Red Peacock.

All of you have such beautiful flowers!

Very pretty goofy. It looks an awful lot like Moonlight doesn't it?

Jeanette

Richland, MI(Zone 5b)

Well, Jeanette, in my "hands" Moonlight had a greenish tint to it, and Picottee has this charming red border on the petals. Even my DH is in love with it, actually Picottee was one of "his choices" as well!

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Is the flower on Picottee bigger than Moonlight? Yes I can see the red rims on the petals now. But, it still looks a little greenish on my computer. That might be making the difference. The computer.

Very nice whatever.

Now that most of these have bloomed what are you doing with them?

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

I guess I am letting the new leaves feed the bulb??? Not sure. I need to get out the instructions from the arboretum site. I think that is who it was.

I was going to just put mine out under the Silk Oaks for the summer where they stayed green all year but not one of them from last year bloomed this year so I think I need a new plan.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

My neighbor always puts hers outside for the summer and they always bloom magnificently. I have been keeping mine in and letting them go dormant. That didn't work, so this year they are all going outside like hers.

We'll see.

Here is the final round for Black Pearl. I am soooo glad I was able to get this one from you Susan.

This one shows the seed pods that are making from the first round.

Here is a shot looking down on the blooms. It is a nice dark color. They are loaded with pollen so I should get another set of seeds.

I am still not able to get the true rich deep red color of these, but I try. Tempted to get my 35mm out and take an old fashioned picture. LOL

II am on the last blooms of my BP too and getting the tru color on film doesn't work for me either...glad you got a bulb though. It's warm enough here that I am going to put them all outside and declutter this space...that is until we hit triple digits and then I'll be hauling them all back in...LOL

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Wineaux, I wish I could haul them outside to declutter this place. LOL, we still have a couple feet of snow on the ground. Only, it is so cold nights that it has turned to ice. About the time I can do that you will be hauling yours back inside.

Funny how the world is huh?

My Aphrodite is about done. Sad to see the last of the blooms, but hey, spring is almost here! I think we will ALL be glad to get plants out doors again! :-) I have some kind of little black gnats on all my indoor plants now!!!! Gotta get some spray

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

My heart would be broken, as well, if I had somehow managed to shear off a 4-bud stem sprouting up.

We grieve together.

Very pretty distractions to get over that, however!!

Richland, MI(Zone 5b)

Oh, shoot! I am sorry, just read the beginning and then clicked on the beautiful pictures. Gosh, I feel so stoopid now!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I am a skim-reader, too ..... I had to read it twice to put the two parts of different sentences together.

Yer not stoopid, just fast!

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

We all get over things easily on this site goofy. Not like some of the others. Thank Heavens!!!
