The Chatty Amaryllis Coop (let's keep it going) #2

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

The other thread was getting a little long so I thought I would help Cat out and start a new one.

Susan, I would love to have some of your seeds, especially some of the Balck Pearl if you happen to have any left.

I need to get the pics off my camera of my newest blooms for you all to see.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

Send me a dmail with your info and which ones you want. Black Pearl won't be ready for a couple of weeks.

I still have 3 more to bloom.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I have a few more too!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I never get enough Amaryllis photos. For any of you that might not be aware, there is a special Amaryllis forum:

All my co-op bulbs have bloomed, but I still have others non co-op ones that I' m posting on the other forum.

Susan

(Cathy), MO

Hi all. Thanks for starting a new thread Robin.
Well all 3 of my Picotees are reblooming! And the one that hadn't done anything yet, looks like it is finally going to grow.
All I have left to bloom is Aphrodite. Can't wait for those!

I think we definately want some Black Pearls in the next coops! gorgeous.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Cathy, good to see you.

Grand Cru is still blooming and Flamengo Star has another stalk so does Star Gazer. My Romance is finally opening so I will get a pic of it when they finish.

Unfortunately Papillo pooped out on me so no seeds, I did stick the stalk in water hoping that will get it to finish developing.

Definitely we need Black Pearl.

Tucson, AZ

I agree...BP are beautiful! If we can't find them with the company for the next coop, for the right offer I would be willing to do an exchange. Just something to keep in mind for the next coop. This pic is the second blooming and the one from Trader Joe's.

Susan I got the other seeds you sent. I am getting confused now, but I am sure you sent these. I will get them planted right away. The others are doing real good. Thanks so much.

Jeanette

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

which Susan? me or Wineaux?

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

You. Aren't you Susan? I didn't know Wineaux was Susan also.

Jeanette

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

LOL, yes, but I only sent you one package I 'think'

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

You are so right!! Goofybulb sent me another package. 3 different seeds (pkgs) Orange Sovereign crossed with Moonlight, Pasadena, and Jewel.

Some interesting mixes huh? Especially the Pasadena!! That will be fun.

Thanks for helping me clear it up. I had to thank Goofy.

Here are a couple of pictures of my Jumbo Red Peacock. It has 4 big flowers open and 2 other small ones that I doubt will be open before these are gone.

But, I thought that Red Peacock was a darker red than this. Could be the light. It might have been if it had gotten better light to grow in.

That looks more like what I thought Dancing Queen was suppose to look like.

Jeanette

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

looks like they mixed em up... maybe... I didn't order dancing queen

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Just my opinion. Jeanette

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

that does look like the closest in color

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Boy, I have a smaller bulb, one I got on the coop, of Red Peacock blooming now and I had it under my HPS bulb. It is almost as big as all 4 of the ones on my Jumbo put together. Well maybe not quite. But that bulb HPS sure did make a difference. You all probably get sun and yours end up like this.

Jeanette

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Red Peacock was one of my larger blooms. That one and Dancing Queen have been the largest so far.

Susan

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

I will try to get a pic of mine today. I can only imagine what my jumbo would have looked like if I had put it under the HPS light. It had 6 blooms on one stalk. The stock is about 1 1/4 inches thru. Real thick and stocky.

Jeanette

Richland, MI(Zone 5b)

You gals and guys were busy posting! Well, I'm back and tomorrow I'll show you some pictures as well.

Beautiful flowers, everyone!

Cathy, I think that, if you let the vendor know about some specific cultivars that we're interested, we might have a better chance for them to stock those.
Robin (Robynznest), I've had the same sad experience with Papillio pollination. None of the Papillio flowers took, and neither did the varieties pollinated with Papillio pollen. Sad... there could have been such lovely babies!
Jeanette, you're welcome!

Hugs,
Alexandra
