Nice pic Willow. I really like that little one, it has a nice contrast to the others.
Katie, It could be a lavender. I have one in that part of the yard, but I thought that it got beat up when the powerline folks came through. But, maybe not. Hmmm ...I'm sort of thinking that it might be my pineapple sage plant. I'll have to go out and smell it tomorrow.
I know that this is a lavender.
The "Frosty Stuff"... #2
I forgot to mention Katie... I tried to google earth today and the landscaping place. 2 mi. down the rd. they have really clear, up to date pictures. Where they're at.....you can tell that there's a house, that's it. I was really surprised that that area was so far behind the others near it.
I just love how your pictures show the crystals of ice. Very cool.
You're Sweet Katie! I think that it is the back lighting that makes the crystals somewhat discernable. That might also by why I'm sooooo drawn to back lighting, then again... it could just be an unknown strangeness! :-p
I like back-lighting, as well. You get some real texture and definition with it. You made such a good choice with your camera - wish I could get some of those close-ups that you do. Makes this frosty season almost tolerable.
Like that last one rc. Very pretty!
Shelly, I didn't respond to your comment about the kids and the tornados, sorry about that. So in response, on the contrary, DD told me that if they didn't have the kids they would have loved to have been TORNADO CHASERS! Thank goodness they have the kids! I don't think I would have survived the stress if they were that.
BTW-Great pics!

Great pics Sally! I'm sure glad that you finally got out to enjoy the weather some! Even if it was a little cold. Now that is a cute raccoon!
Great pics, everyone! I have not had the time to check in with this thread during the past week, and what a lot to catch up on. I didn't even attempt to really do more than glance at everything I missed on the previous thread. Just no time for it.
Karen
Thanks everyone.
rc....that first one looks like a claw. No idea on the second.
I like watching the storm chasers on TV, but wouldn't want to do it. And sure wouldn't want my kids doing it, that's for sure.
RC is it a hydrangea or a eunonymous?
Good one Rachel! I didn't think that it would be that easy! Yes it is Euonymus.
Sally, the first one is a sunflower 'dead head' :-p but claw works too.
Euonymus....hmmmmm...back to the book.
haha. Euonymus fortunei emerald and gold. it changes colors in the winter!
Yes, I love watching the storm chasers on TV. I also like watching lightning storms in real life. Very cool!
Karen
I was going to guess Angelina Jolie's lips on ice.
Patricia, too funny . . . maybe somebody should create a Euonymous 'Angelina Jolie' . . .
Patricia and Kathy, you're a riot!!! ROFLMAO!!!

Willow...that is too funny!! But now you mention it, there is a likeness.
Now you need to find a 'Billy Bob' companion - hmmmmmm, what plant would THAT be? Something invasive that never stays where you put it, I think.
rotflol. That's too funny. It took me quite a while to figure it out too. I was sitting here thinking: billy bob? there's a plant called billy bob? Then a light came on and a ding, ding, ding....
scotch broom could be renamed! lol
scotch broom....perfect choice. Fits your description to a T Kathy.....invasive and never stays put!
hey ladies - back off!
I think that is a perfect new name for Scotchbroom!
Cytisus scoparius 'Billy Bob Thornton'. Good at what it does. Kinda prickly. Gets around. Most people don't see that at first, but later one realize that it's taken advantage of them.
:-)
uummmm hummmmmmmmmmmm
Are you a fan of his Bill?
Sorry if I offended, Bill. I DO think he's a great actor.
Just think he gets himself into trouble pretty easily. :-)
Yep, that's what I was thinking. He's actually pretty funny. But, scotch broom really fits!!!
not offended at all -love him in sling blade - for a week after watching that i'll be walking around the house telling my wife - in his character - you're looking reeeaall purrrty umhhhhhhhhh hummmmmmmmmm.
i guess i needed a little explanation with the original post - my bad
