Introduceing JELLY BEAN!

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

Does he have big fangs!? Ok, that's only for the same deprived Monty Python fans.....Run Away, Run Away.....

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

Is that a duck in rabbit clothes-incognito duck?!

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

My apologies, I've had too much coffee....heehee

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

Are you hearing voices, too?

=0)

(Zone 7b)

Jelly Bean says she would love to play but alas mom said no playing with older boys.....Crud!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Bummer Quarmony quack, quack Quellybean. (Bummer. Harmony obviously has you on a tight leash jellybean :()

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

Dahlia's been drinking coffee and is channeling...

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Uh oh, Dahlia's gone into duckspeak. Or is that quackspeak?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Funky weirdness. Suddenly last night I found myself paddling around the bath tub and now I'm speaking quack. Maybe I'm a changeling or possessed. I'll let you know if I sprout any feathers

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

Dahlia...
See urgent note to pod crew. V. important.
It's important to pro+quack+ly regu+quack caffeine and quack uptake.

Pfc. Jay... quack!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Apple is using stronger language than "crud". I'll have to wash his mouth out with soap.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Oh man, it's spreading....Jay's got the quacks.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Quack virus?

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

That is not Apple's cage. He is sitting on the stairs next to my computer. He has a wire cage but he gets to roam around the house a lot. He is spoiled and stays indoors. Come Spring he may move to the barn if I can get a couple more cages and a couple of does.

I don't know what breed he is. He is the same size as a New Zeland White. He has brindle patches. What kind might that be? I'd like to get a couple of Flemish Giant does to breed him to.

He has caught the scent of sweet fruit in abundance...

He has found his treasure but has to act nonchalant...

Ahhh. Sweet reward!!!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Awww...that's adorable! What a cute bun!

(Zone 7b)

Cayjun i believe thats a Mini Rex i used to raise those and thats what Apple looks like.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Nothing mini about him. He's a good sized fella and his ears are full sized. He also doesn't have the Rex coat.

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

Checkered Giant?

Jay does not have quacks... that was your hallucination! LOL

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I wouldn't think he was a giant. Just a regular sized bunny. Larger than a Dutch but just a bit smaller than a Ca Giant.

(Zone 7b)

Could be english spot crossed with mini rex i'm going by size and color pattern.
Mini rex aren't that small they are called mini because they are smaller than a regular rex which are very large.
He doesn't have the rex fur but his pattern says rex his hair says english spot or satin or maybe polish.

Chesapeake, VA

Ugh....ah....ugh....(can't quite get it out...) I just saw an article about winter vegetables by critterologist...and in the first few lines she said...she said....(covers Jelly Bean's ears)...two BAD words!!!!

Rabbit Stew!!!!

(BrightStar covers her eyes)

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I'd like to google those breeds. Is English Spot the actual name of the breed? Thanks for the info.

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

It's OK, BrightStar, Jelly Bean isn't a rabbit...
he's a bunny, probably a Lap bunny. Jah. =0)
They're not edible.

Ferndale, WA

Harm: I could not believe you said you'd sell your flock to two Peacocks. I just can't believe you said that! Shame on you, Tell me u did not say that.. That blue-eyed bunny has really messed up your mind. I so believed in you. It's all down hill for me now. Arghhh. Somebody pinch me.

(Zone 7b)

Haystack i have coveted Peacocks for at least 5 years but alas i don't have the space for them maybe one day.
Oh i wouldn't give my flock just an expression like i would give my eye teeth for that LOL

Remember once a chicken head always a chicken head ^_^

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I thought peacocks were mean and shreaky Harmony?

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

I know I sure hate them in my neighborhood... the night time screaming is worse than dogs... they are sure loud!

(Zone 7b)

I could stand a little noise just to see their beauty (Sigh:)

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

I hope your neighbors are a distance away...
and at least you wouldn't have snakes. =0)

(Zone 7b)

LOL Really tho the chance of me getting a peacock is like zilch, zero, na'da i live to close to too many that might complain.

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Did you see how long her driveway was??? LOL

Sue, RI(Zone 6a)

This hairdresser had her salon inside her house and my MIL used to go there. So I thought I'd call her up and get my hair cut. So I'm sitting in the chair getting a trim when all of a sudden I heard this horrible screeching sound scared the bees right out of me! I was all I could do to not let out some sounds myself. Turned out she had several peacocks roaming in her backyard!

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

What cute bunnies!

What have I done?!?! DH said there would be no more talking of bunnies if I bought those Degus... so now I have two rodents, albeit CUTE, rodents, and no bunnies. WAAAAAAA!

RE: eating your own meat. I am totally reading compassion carnivore. I'm really starting to learn a lot about all this and am going to do my best from here on out not to eat meat that I don't know where it comes from. That being said, I'm still not sure I'm strong enough to raise my own, cull it, prepare it, and eat it. I may have to do some trickery of the mind. Like send it off to the butcher or raise chickens with a friend and only eat his and he'll eat ours... I dunno.

Clarkson, KY

I don't like it much. AT All. But knowing for certain they've had a good life goes a long way...

Social Circle, GA(Zone 8a)

Super kewte bunnies!

A note on jelly beans - when people steal them outta the jar from your desk? Order these- http://www.jellybelly.com/Shop/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=61800

That'll teach em to steal your Jelly Beans. Seriously. One vomit flavored jelly bean and they're done.

I only eat locally raised meat - still have difficulty getting chicken - but beef is easy. I see those trucks with the chickens crammed in them and want to puke. Chickens are actually fairly expensive when raised in a yard rather than a big nasty, overcrowded house.

Chesapeake, VA

About peacocks:
Once I was at a hiking convention in West Virginia. There had just been flooding, and they asked for volunteers to dig a lady's house out. She had a three-story house by the ravine, and the bottom two floors were caught in the mudflow.

I'm usually a self-centered person, but for once I decided to be a part of something good. We formed a line and hauled buckets of mud out. So, I spent the day in the mud and muck. I found a gorgeous peacock feather, and gave it to her.

It turned out that she had a peacock that she loved very much. She saved his tailfeathers, and kept them in a vase. This was one of his tailfeathers.

It meant a lot to her.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

That's a lovely story BrightStar. What a wonderful thing you did.

Chesapeake, VA

It is one of the things I am proudest of in my life. Other than us, she didn't have much help.
