I just want to give Dave's Garden and everybody who posts in The Garden Watchdog a huge thank you. Last year I ordered from two catalogs and this year I got many catologs in the mail from companies I never even heard of before. I plan on my first real vegetable garden this year and The Garden Watchdog helped me choose which companies to order from. So, thank you all so much.
I clicked on the links to the companies right from The Garden Watchdog so I hope they know they got my business because of Dave's Garden.

Thank You for The Garden Watchdog
Angele, Isn't GW a wonderful thing? I hope when you get your orders you will post feedback at the Watchdog with your experience!
That's so nice to hear--thank you for letting us know it was helpful!
And without giving too much away, stay tuned to the newsletter...I think you'll like the article series that's planned for the last week of the month ;o)
Oooh Terry, Now you've really got my curiosity up! I can't wait for the upcoming Newsletter and article series!
Thanks plantladylin, it is and I will!!
Terry this web site has been a real treasure to me starting when I was just trying to id wild plants. Never thought I would be a gardener myself but with the knowledge shared & encouragement from the members here I have come a long way - far enough to actually purchase seed and give it a real try! Last year I bought two tomato plants, a bell pepper, 1 artichoke and grew some parsley from seed. This year I'm planning a whole vegetable & herb garden... just in the nick of time if grocery prices keep going the way the have been. I can't thank you all enough. I'll be watching the newsletter.
While we are on this subject, I'd like to say how much I love PF for a similar reason. (PF is what led me to DG BTW.) These days, I don't buy a single plant w/o consulting PF to see what it really looks like. That has saved me tons of money and many disappointments as I don't have the space for plants I won't like.
I really appreciate PF and all of the people who post images there. Sometimes the PF images indicate that the plant will look similar to or even better than the vendor images suggest. Other times they don't. It is these latter times that the PF images have saved me from buying the wrong plants. I still buy the same number of plants, but thanks to PF I am armed with better information about how the plants look when grown by a number of people under varying conditions, and I keep looking until I find the ones that are most likely to produce the results I'm seeking.
Plant Files is my favorite thing here on DG ... well, right up there with chatting with all my gardening friends! ^_^ I love the Plant Identification forum ... when someone ID's a plant, especially one that is really a nice specimen and catches my eye, I have to immediately go look it up in PF to read about it and look through other plants in the same genus. Since becoming a member of this wonderful family garden, I have learned so much about so many different plants!
I LOVE plantfiles... probably use it a few times per day.... But it was WatchDog that brought me to Dave's.
I'm Loving the new Bird Files too!
... I JUST LOVE THIS ENTIRE Garden!
