Well, soils, sounds like on one hand you are worse off than we are with the drought, but thankfully you are getting the rain.
Last year at this time we were overwhelmed with rain and flooded and declared a federal disaster area, not once, but two times within 30 days. The floods came back agian a month later. Our poor little town has suffered very much in this and recover has been slow to say the least. We have no industry and what is here is not much. Our mom and pops are whithering.
Flowerpot Cafe 18
Blossombuddy - what and where is your hometown? It sounds like you have a lot of land to call your own. I wish I had twice as much open area as I do, but then again, that will be twice as much weeds to pull. LoL.
Oh no nno nooo no! It is truly embarrassing to admit the state to which I live in public anymore so therefore I sent you an email instead.
Please send Texas or other fine southerly states real estate catalogs! I am only passing through now!
Hey terri, speaking of South Pacific, how about...."Bali Ha'i," "Some Enchanted Evening," "Happy Talk", "Younger than Springtime" and "I'm in Love with a Wonderful Guy" .
Hammerstien was one of the greats! I was a really young pup back then, but oh how I can appreciate the tunes and the folks of that era now! I could understand the words!! and the music, my how that had such sweetness, none of that bangity bam bam like some of the new tunes!
(send SP real estate catalogs.....droool!)
Oh my gawd and the hunks in that musical!! Whooohoo! Make you wanna sing Happy Talk!!

Hope you feel better! The plantgeek and I have been discussing bulbs and so I thought I would bring my Easter Lily today.. she's a bit early, but we are trying to coax her to bloom so I dressed her up in her pretty pot cover and now I need a volunteer to sing Happy Talk to her!! LOL! She is one of those held from the year before. Actually my first in getting an Easter Lily to grow back again ever.. I always used to toss them after they were done because I had heard that they did not come back.. well TADA!
Just in time for you to Get Well soon!
Thank you Blossom, it looks lovely with the pot dressed up! good idea.
We went to a museum last week, they had a farm area in the gardens with goats and rabbits. The goats stayed in their huts.. tooo cold to venture out I guess!!
The gardens are nice, even in winter! but it was a freezing rainy day and despite wearing 4 tops 2pairs of trousers and a coat, I still caught a cold! We saw some garden art!

elle
Terri I do hope you are feeling better. Shame you had such bad weather, but you did get to see a lot of signs of spring so that musta made your day.
elle my parents used to raise beagles to run in field trials (that is chasing rabbits) so we also raised rabbit when I was very young. I remember them being in their pens stacked up against the outhouse, yes I said outhouse, I am older than I look LOL! Hoping you keep the power if for no reason but to stay warm or do you heat with wood?
Wabbit? Where's that wascally wabbit? ahahahahahaha
Probably hiding behind that easter lily. Glad you found the purple pot btw Blossom. Looks purdy.
Sorry I've been away for awhile y'all. Had to take a break from computers and gadgets and TV oh my. Sometimes all the techno buzz gets to be enough and I just want to sit in dirt and listen to birds. But, being winter, I'm not keen on freezing my pitootie off. So I did the next best thing, sat on a cushion, burned incense and listened to mind chatter. I'm not sure which was noisier, the chatter or the gadgets. Maybe I should have dipped into my old stash. hardy har har.
Elle, I hope you don't lose your electricity. But in case you do, here is a virtual generator that runs on wabbit poop. I don't think you will get cold.
Speaking of cold, I whipped up a keg of veggie juice for everyone to keep from getting sick and to speed Terri's recovery. It's certainly no fun feeling like crap when the weather is crap too. This batch is a little zippy - tabasco sauce and oregano oil to kill off the germs. And just for the fun of it, here is a dish of fresh hazlenut truffles.
Cheers y'all
Plantgeek - glad to have you back with us! I'm going to be the first to dip into that dish of fresh hazelnut truffles. YUMMMMMMy
Candee - I bet you are still a kid at heart.
Blossombuddy - your Easter lily looks great. All mine are outdoors, in the ground, and only about 3 inches high.
Terri - hope you are feeling much better and recovering from what looked like a nice day at the museum and outdoor areas, and
Elle, I hope that you don't catch Dave's cold.
The weather is still fairly nice out here, but I noticed that this morning, the gas heater did not kick in, so I am hoping that it is not anything big and expensive to fix.
The new year has already started for many of you who are in time zones ahead of me (I have about an hour to go) -So, to all of you, A VERY HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!! May it bring to you prosperity and joy, and of course, lots and lots of flowers.
It is the year of the Ox, the year is 4707. The lunar calendar goes back a long time. Below is a photo of some typical red envelopes with money that the adults would give to the children on New Year's day. That was my favorite part of the holiday when I was a child.
Hi everyone!
Thanks for the well wishes, still feeling crook, staying home today.
Thanks for the veggie juice, I'm sure it's good for me, but I'd rather have the hazelnut truffles any day !!
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR to you Dianne!
Thanks for the red envelopes, there's no children here, can we share them out? !
Sue has started a new thread for us, see you there!
