YOUR OPINION REQUESTED
My latest seedling that opened today, Hope the shape improves on the second bloom like what happen with "Neon Morning" and some of the other seedling did. What you think of it.
I"m waiting for one of my seedling to be pink or with half the bloom with pink in it to name it after you Judy, since pink is your favorite color.

Just have to say again, that "Debbie" is so darn cute! LOL
Thanks Wilfred!
How about Orange Parfait!
Ice cream dessert at Dairy Queen!
Made with orange sherbert!
Yes I've seen it with those colors, just depends on who made the dessert!
Your welcome!
Of the hibiscus that I have seen, these crossed over are absolutely fantastic. When you have enough to share please think of me.:)

Definitely a stunning bloom, Wilfred. One of your prettiest yet. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing with us.
Hugs,
Judy
I think we got all the mealy bugs there are but no problem I spray everything every two weeks. mints are also a problem but they share the same fate as the mealy bug, gone with the wind after I spay them. there there is another insect that's worse than to two mentioned before, their called Snow Scales, they stick to the branches of the hibiscus and they multiply rapidly if you don't get rid off them fast, they'll spread like wildfire, you can't miss seeing them since there white as snow and there one next to the other, people mistaken them for fungus but there scale bugs.
if you don't treat you plants on time they will kill it quiet fast, you'll notice that your plant will start to form notes around the leaf area and all growth will stop all together, leaves will start to curl and deform until the plant dies. Don't be fooled buy its size, one wouldn't think something so small can cause so much devastation but it does and they also attack citrus trees.
So far my neem oil is working quite well against these little monster bugs and its biodegradable, no harm to humans or animals, only insects.

Wilfred, your seedlings are all so pretty. I am glad I saw this thread. What beautiful pics on a snowy, cold day :).
Not silly at all but sure is gorgeouse indeed. Might have to visit you some day but I'm scare of flying planes, just get on a paddle bout and paddle over there, LOL!..... OH! I forgot also scared of boats sinking and becoming a shark's dinner, LOL! I've never even gone to Vieques and that island is even closer then yours.
I think if I was meant to fly I would have wings and if I was meant to be in the water I would have fins, also don't think I would look to good with a fin attached to my but, LOL!

Melissa I have more than two hundred seedling but only 25 have bloomed till now since it takes from one to two year for hibs to bloom from seeds and the oldest seedlings are just about one year and a half old plus weather seems to be playing a big roll in my hib collection blooming, most of my hibs don't even have buds on them like the normally do, really frustrating since mien usually have lots of bud on them. just have two wait for them to decide to bloom.
Wilfred
PS. forgot to ask, whats that beautiful pink flower you showed in your photo, there gorgeous, do they grow from cuttings.

Oh! the pink vine? It's an invasive weed from South America. Has underground 'potatoes' that it can come up from, very difficult to eradicate. It's overpowering indigenous vines. It's named Coral Vine. Very pretty, tho!
You must see all those green green baby hibs and sigh! poor you. Because they will be amazing, once they do bloom. And you cannot fertilize them with any kind of bloom booster, can you? Oh Phooey!
(lol)
As Gomer would say,"Thank you, thank you, thank you, Wilfred." Dearly love this flower & am so very honored to have you name it after me. It is a beautiful color & I'm hoping you will send me cuttings after it warms up. It looks very large. What size is the bloom? You have out done yourself & naturally I think this one is the prettiest!!!
Big Texas Hugs,
Judy (AKA #25 now!)
Melissa, does your bad, invasive vine have seeds? I think its gorgeous. Told my best friend that the flowers we buy & love are most likely weeds in some part of the world.
I love that color Wilfred. I'm hoping my Hibiscus survive all this freezing temps we are having right now. I've had them covered and watered. I have my fingers crossed.

Glade you liked it Judy, photos never take the exact color of the blooms but only close to it, blooms are usually prettier than the photos show. Bloom is not big but I think what it doesn't have in size it will hall in quantity as it has more buds on it, I think it a prolific bloomer. I'm going to plant a cutting to send it to you when it has rooted, really would love you to have one of these named after you.
I was thinking the same as you Judy about Melissa's weed, wonder if she could dig out one of the potatoes, probably look nice on a trellis.
Hope your hibs are safe from the cold and make it through the bad weather too Darla, its so frustrating when one looses a plant one really liked and can't replace it that easy. Thanks for the complements, Probably name one after you too, just have to wait to see what seedling decides to bloom next.
