That bloom is a beauty, love looking at everyone's blooms, you all inspire us to see if we can come up with anything. So far we have gotten seeds from (NItty Gritty-Dad) and Top gun-Mom) we are waiting to see what we come up with,
Our climate isn't as warm as yours, sometimes our night temps are in the 50's, right now. we do have some on the heat map inside, I think we have 5 seedlings that are about 2 inches tall just getting their 2nd leaves. (SO excited) we also have a couple of seeds from Nitty Gritty and Ima PInk
YOUR OPINION REQUESTED
Wilfred, I just found your thread and your beautiful flowers just get better and better. Thank you for sharing!
Looks Great Wilfed....
I love seeing your new creations.
Hopefully I will have some to show next year. It has been hard to have crosses take where I live as we have 0 % humidity most of the time.
Thank you all, this forum should have a sub-title ( The Hibiscus Lovers )
stplong if your excited now wait till you get your first bloom than you'll know what excitement really is.
Iowellsf, It's hard to compete with so many beauties that are out there now, but I've notice that all hibs are beautiful in there own right.
paczona, can't wait to see your creation as well, they'll probably look fantastic, you know, I don't think it has to do so much with humidity, I would say it has to do more with temp. , maybe around 75F, I've have humidity all year long from 70% to almost a 100% and I get most seed pods around that temp. anything much higher or much lower tend to produce less seed pods for me, maybe somebody can share some light on this for you.

I'm glad you finally got a bloom from at least one of the hibs I sent you, I thought they would never bloom since its been four month since I had sent them to you and didn't see a photo of the blooms from you on this forum, the next bloom should look even better, they tend to do that. I can also see it has more buds on it, that means that I will be seeing more photos in the future from you. Now that you finally got hibs, you can post them with the rest of us on this forum and make new treads for every one else to see. Looking forward to seeing them, I hope you really enjoy them like I do.
Your Friend Wilfred
beautiful
Perfect name Wilfred, it lives up to it's name.
she's beautiful.
Looks like a little sunshine!!!!!
Every one of them rate a 1.....just beautiful. Its been so hot here I have been watering mine 2-3 times a day. But, they are alive & blooming. Bought a few small ones a Wally world recently & they had put cuttings in squares of florist foam, surrounded by potting soil. Had not seen that before but they are beautiful plants & were full of buds & blooms. Its the foam stuff used with cut flowers. Makes sense when you see it. Next time I break a piece off I am going to try it. Love seeing your efforts pay off so handsomely. Would like to learn how to do it but right now I'm just trying to keep things watered. Not easy to do with the water restrictions we have. Thanks again for sharing & please send me some of that rain.
Thank you all for the complements, really appreciate it since I have so many that haven't bloomed yet, get kind of frustrating waiting so long for them to bloom so it nice to see at least one of them decide to bloom and show me her beauty, the plant is still small compared with the others seedling I planted at the same time but it won the race in blooming first for me.

#15 " Little Lemon Drop "
This is my latest seedling to bloom from yesterday, when I got home from work at 7;00am the bud was still closed, so took a shower and went to bed. When I got up it was fully open but the wind had taken its tool and damaged it completely, quite windy yesterday, I tried to take the best photo possible but the bloom was so damaged I a little reluctant in posting it for all to see but I've have been waiting so long for one of my seedling to bloom. Hope the next bloom doesn't get damaged before I take photo.
So what do you think of it, let me know.
Wilfred
It's orange,do I need to say more!!!!LOL
I'm trying to imagine what a yellow eye would look like instead of the pink!!!!????
Wilfred I love how the eye area veins out from the pink into a yellow, very cool!
That is a beauty! I love also the little bits of yellow.
Darla
Dude, an orange yellow eye!!!!LOL! I think you would have two get a totally yellow hib and cross it with an orange hib that has a light or white eye on it.
Thanks Tropicman for the laugh and Debbie for the nice complement
.
I was thinking of calling it " Little Dee " but that depends upon if my friend Dee likes it, if not I'll call it something else and wait till I get something he likes.
Wilfred
I love it! but if you call it that it has to be a lower case 'dee' :-) "Little dee"
Thanks Wilfred! I'm honored!
I was waiting for your reply dee, the honor is mien my friend, so shall be it " Little dee " it is. I'll be planting some cutting soon so I can send you one when I send you the others.
Wilfred
p.s. Now I can go to sleep, thanks.
p.s. Thank you Darla, much appreciated
Looking forward to it Wilfred :-)
well, we already have the 'My Puerto Rican Cousin' red so a 'My Friend Carlos' sounds like a perfect match :-)
Beautiful flower & I like that you want to name it after your friend. Flowers & friends are 2 things essential to life.
Judy
I love those frills! What's the name of the bloom?
I don't know if Wilfred named this one. The last set of blooms didn't have that frilly part.
Darla
Darla, that is beautiful.
Judy
Darla, your hibiscus looks great, I love the colors.
Patrick
Sorry Darla, but I have the least idea what there names are, got this from neighbors who had them for quit a while, just hope they last many years for you and give you lots of blooms for you to enjoy, the photos you posted look gorgeous.
Thank you Dee, Judy and Patrick, really appreciate your comments.
Wilfred
I really like those Wilfred, especially Jillian, lovely colors.
Ditto, Deb, the Jillian does have amazing colors. Thanks for sharing with us, Wilfred.
Judy
I really like the colors on Jillian
Darla
Thanks Debbie, Judy and Darla, both "Jillian" and "Lauren" have the own tributes to them, while "Jillian is a smaller delicate looking plant with smaller blooms, "Lauren" is bigger stronger looking plant with mid size blooms, both bloom regularly.
