We are still without power but I have a bit of generator time so that I can post some of Sammi's photos from last Friday's ice storm.
Here's the butterfly ornament that we have in the front garden, all covered with about three-quarters of an inch of ice.
Ice-covered southern New Hampshire
I am so thankful your OK!!!!!!!!!
Such tragic beauty. Can't help but look in awe.
That misty view of the lake is particularly AWEsome.
That last shot is AWESOME!!!!! Glad you're all OK.
Stay safe!!
Thanks, Evie. We are very safe for now. The forecast is for snow tomorrow, up to five inches, and then snow every other day for the next week. As long as the temps stay down, our food will be safe, too.
Great shots, Candyce - especially the mountain one. Hides the bad reality!
Those trees do look like the Ents from LOTR. Beautiful pictures, in spite of the damage.
Amazing pics. That top of the hill shot is really something. Those poor trees don't need any snow to add weight on their over burdened branches. Hope it is the light fluffy stuff. Take care and stay safe.
Victor:
I was NOT the one going out and taking those photos on Friday. My granddaughter, Sammi, braved the still-falling branches and cold to get a photo journalist perspective. Me? I was all bundled up and warm indoors, thank you - LOL!
Hope you made her some hot chocolate when she got back!
I would have, but she insists on doubling the amount of chocolate powder that goes into the cup, and that just makes me want to gag. She made her own ... and continues to do so.
There's been no school here, of course. It looks like the high school will re-open tomorrow, but the forecast is calling for more snow, so it's still debatable. Meanwhile, the little ones do not have elementary school, and probably won't until we get power back. The power company says that they may get everyone back online by Friday, but then they say it could be as late as Christmas, too.
It would be great to be able to light up the Christmas tree on Christmas morning to see Little Miss "M"'s face!
Wow - hope it does return soon. Even if you have to switch off everything else on Christmas morning, you have to light the tree for the kiddies!
Great shots, Candyce. I am greatly relieved to hear how things are at your house. That freezer you have is amazing! Hope you have your power back on soon!! Stay safe!!
Louise
Thanks for sharing the pics, Candyce. They're great. I love seeing them, and have been saving pics of the ice storm for my current screensaver. I'm so glad you're safe. I hope you get your power back on soon.

Piece on the news tonight about Lunenburg MA being in the dark. P.O. is open according to my friend, but not a great deal else. they have a generator but have to switch it off & on so all the gas isn't wasted.
