Thought I'd show how my packages turned out ^_^
Dec OT Blooms
Beautiful Gran! Love the combination of brown paper, dried flowers, and string.
Very nice, Gran. Love the wrapping!
Your presents look lovely, Gran.
Oh my goodness, I would freeze! I only lived for 11 years once in zone 6 and it took me years to thaw out again (LOL)
its 42 below with the wind chill gail you should come and see us LOL
heck im ready to abandon this place for somewhere warmer
JIM
nice pic! Jim, it is now 80 degrees outside but a cold cold front is coming in with 50mph winds tonight at midnight. The temps won't get above 45 degrees for the next 3 days. (I know you are not sympathizing) (LOL)
Look at the wild turkeys which walked by my house on the road as I sneaked around the palm tree to hide and take a picture. I need to ask my brother why he dumps everything across the road from me that he doesn't want......even a wrecked car from his grandson..........
It is 25 below chill factor and feels so cold even on the inside with heat. I think I shall be cold until the spring.
Hi everyone! Just have a minute to pop in and check out a couple of threads!
Sounds like some of y'all are having some REALLY COLD weather! Brrr .... I just cannot imagine below zero temp's! We had a high of 81 yesterday and today has been in the 60's. Our low tonight is going to be mid 40's but back up to mid 70's tomorrow and Christmas day will be 82! I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging .... sure would send y'all some of this Florida Sunshine to warm you up if I could! I will concentrate real hard and think warm thoughts for you all! I know Spring will be here soon. Seems like the months just fly by anymore ... I can't believe it's Christmas again - and 2009 right around the corner! My goodness, it seems like it was just May or June! Getting old, I guess.
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Holiday and Many Blessings in the coming year!
Lin
We will be almost 80 on Christmas day. It is cold today, but will quickly warm up again. I was wishing for a cooler Christmas, but I will take it after watching the news and all of the weather problems most of the nation is having. Hope everyone stays safe and warm.
I won't care about the temperature whatever it is . . . 'cause I know I'll be the bestest mommy in the whole wide world - for about an hour! LOL!! My DD just LOVES flamingo's, and I found her a nice stuffed one at the zoo yesterday . . .
That's nice. It is so much fun to find something you know they love!
Sally, My grandmother said that the years from 80 to 100 were the BEST!
Happy early BirthDay!
Nan
Sally, our weather has stunk since Saturday night. It is really cold outside right now.......about 42 on the gauge. The worst is over for a while anyway. I don't wish for cold weather on Christmas as children love to ride their new 'riding' toys depending on their ages.
I'm not 80, it is the temperature! It did sound like that, ha. I just turned 49.
LOL!! So tired and achy. I'm not thinking too clearly, huh?
It was 0 when I got up this morning. That is just wrong. I need to move to south Texas!
Gail, I love it cold. We took a walk with Trudy our little doggie and did errands today. There is SO much hot weather that I look forward to actual winter temps. I loved it as a child too. Loved to bundle up and be outside.
I don't like ice and really low temps though. Just 40's-60's. Not a fan of freezing temps.
I will take our warmer temperatures though. The yard looks nice that way. My flowers are doing fine.
Hi, I'm injoying your thread. Am down the road from hillbilly_gran in Salus ARK. On top of a mountain in NAT. FOREST at the end of a gravel road. So our lifestyles are alike. Would'nt trade this for anything. Am iced in at the moment but should melt by tomorrow. Our weatherman has'nt been too accurate lately so will wait and see.
My garden loves are spring flowers and daylilies. Already looking forward to spring.
HI Neighbor!! good to see you here!
MERRY CHRISTMAS, Everyone!
kivit: Wow! What a beautiful snow scene! We are warm and toasty down this way ... had a high of 82 today, none of that pretty white stuff here! We did have some light rain today but sunshine for most of the day.
I got an email from a friend in the state of Washington today with sooooo much snow I couldn't believe it. Her car hadn't been moved since last Tuesday and you couldn't even see the car.....only the outline.
cute pics and I do remember that scare! It was a tragedy ready to happen.
Nice pics Syru! You have a beautiful family! Doing well by that new camera^_^
Outside pix are much easier!
I know---still nice. Any progress on inside pics? Haven't picked up my camera for days! Was experimenting w/settings--it is all Greek to me...and I did fine in high school Latin--lol I worked the Holiday--too tired to do other stuff like play w/camera.
Syru your DD sitting on the rock looks like she is trying to think of something to get into.
Very nice pictures.
Lovely family you have Nichole! Isn't it great to live in an area where you can do something like that on Christmas day, no Snow and Ice to contend with! I love, love, love the photo's of the beautiful snowy scenery and think it would be great to visit someplace like that in the winter time but I know I could only take the cold temp's for a couple of days! I'd have to buy a winter coat first too! I haven't owned a coat in 41 years! We are being blessed with temp's in the low 80's!
Went down to Fort Lauderdale to my sisters and family yesterday. Check out these humongous Bromeliad's she has growing in the front yard! They didn't even know what kind of plant they were and didn't know this was the bloom. They planted them two years ago and my sister said they have been waiting for flowers all this time and only get these ugly things growing out of them! Ugly?%*%! They are not into plants at all and I'm always taking cuttings of stuff from their yard! They have a tendency to get tired of plants and I KNOW in the near future they will end up pulling these up and throwing them out to replace with something else! They had about a 15' area out back full of pink knock out roses they planted and she didn't know they would get so tall ... hated them, dug them up and threw them away! Can you believe it? She knows when they decide to dig up those Bromeliads that I want one of them at least! They are the biggest Brom's I've ever seen!
Gran, I love your packages. They are very pretty.
kivit, love your snow picture. We were in NY early this month for granddaughter's wedding. The day after the wedding it started to snow. DH said 'time to go home'. We packed up and headed back to sunny Florida. ^_^
Syru, love your pictures. Your children are adorable. The action picture of your son throwing the rock is awesome. It will surly win a prize!
Lyn, those broms are georgeous. Your sister doesn't know a good thing when she has it. LOL. Next time you go down there, you can take some pups. I've tried roses, but don't have luck with them. The only one I have left is a mini, and it's planted in the shade. I don't think it knows it's a mini. It keeps sending up a tall shoot with blooms. After the blooms finish, I cut it off, and weeks later, there is another tall shoot.
My Hawaiian morning glory--Stictocardia tiliifolia has been blooming in the GH. Unfortunately it has climbed the cord to the fan and is blooming near the roof. I had to climb on a bucket to see it-- so thought I'd take a pic while up there. Yeah I'm bored today;) weather is almost above freezing, then I can entertain myself fixing our water supply-- yesterday's rain washed the pipe out of the spring--so if I want water-- i gotta get wet;)
