Oooh, Very nice - what's the name of that beauty?
New Camera Thread
I can't find the battery charger for the camera battery!!!
Oh no! You had it last night when you dmailed me---retrace your steps. And...my camera says my memory card is full--only took a few pics! Now I have to read again!
Lin-it's name is HD Noid. It is pretty washed out. It's a lavender thumbprint

Have you been taking lots of pic's and not deleting them from the camera? I'm not sure but I think something like that happened to me when I first got my camera. Hubby is in bed asleep so I can't ask him.
I am so computer and camera illiterate but my thinking is that once the memory card is full you have to download them to the computer or erase them from the camera for it to accept more. Does that sound right?
Dunno--Last time I used a camera, when the pics were used up, you took it to the drug store to be developed--I'll keep reading
Getting sleepy here so will say good nite for now. Hope everyone has sweet dreams!
I have been . . . over and over . . . there are only 2 things I can think of. 1 - DH was home today, so moved it, or 2 - some sticky little fingers got a hold of it!!! I will leave a note for DH for when he gets home from work in a few hours . . . maybe he put it someplace "safe", and forgot to tell me . . .
As for internal memory - I'll have to check what is on mine, but I got up to 10 pix before it beeped at me that internam memory was full.
I left a note for DH last night (this morning?!?) asking if he knew where it was. About 4am, I heard some banging and pounding . . . thought maybe he forgot his key, so I stumbled down the hall . . . DH was in the kitchen and had just gotten done going thru the garbage in it - he had already gone thru what was taken outside yesterday! Not in the garbage, at least!
When he finally got to bed at 6am, he said he found it in a bucket next to the kids' toy box!
Battery is charging now, so I'll take some pix soon!
What a nice guy to go through the garbage for you in the middle of the night! My money was on the sticky fingers---I remember them well!
Slept late--got up and took a couple of pics BEFORE my coffee! There are definate issues with light--I took these with only a little daylight and the color is still washed out! This is Midget Lillian--the blooms are blue!
Hmmm......much better than mine! Are you using any flash? In which camera setting is the color of your episcia most accurate?
I am using flash in some, but not all. From this morning, I didn't use the flash, 'cause the lights are on . . .
Question--a 1GB memory card for $70.00 with a 15%(so@$57.00) new customer discount?--Worthwhile?--overkill?--too much? I have no clue. Anyone know?
Sounds a little expensive, I would comparison shop. I think I paid about $30 for the same size card at Target. The bigger the card the more files you can store before deleting. I have my camera/software set to delete after downloading--but if I ever go on vacation--or to a convention the storage capacity will come in handy.
I got mine at Best Buy...
1 Lexar-Professional High-Speed 1GB Secure Digital Memory Card
Order Total:$16.13
Yours might be more for a different camera tho...
I got mine online..
phoebesviolets - in reference to the episcia lighting, the first picture captures the more accurate coloring.
Oh, please don't get that memory! I just got back from Walmart, and I was going to get a 2GB SD card (I think that your camera takes the SD size) for $13.00 - Lexar brand. I thought that was pretty good! I showed the lady the one I wanted to get, and she says "I have a 2GB SD card from Kodak for $7.00". Guess which one I got?
My DH ... the technical whiz is home now and I just asked him about the memory card thing. He said you should be able to get a 1GB card for between $10 and $15. Oh, he also said 1 GB is not overkill.
DH and I have identical camera's, Canon Powershot A630, both with 1 GB memory cards. I have mine set to delete photo's from the camera once they have been downloaded to the computer. When I travel, which isn't very often anymore, I take my laptop, the camera and the cable so I can download pictures to the computer.
Oh, plantladylin . . . ask the technical whiz why the 128MB memory card automatically opens up the camera download wizard when inserted, but not with the SD card?
Syru: Ok, here goes: I am typing what he is saying ... but I don't have a clue what it means. LOL
He said: It must have something to do with the software on the original card. A file on the original card makes the camera do what it's doing, but that file is not on the new SD card.
I asked why it wouldn't be on the new SD card and he said it's because the new SD card is a generic and not specifically for your camera.
Ah. Makes sense.
I'm glad it makes sense to you ... all the technical stuff is waay over my head (or, brain!)
Thanks everyone--very helpful, and you saved me big $$$! I appreciate it! ^_^
Hey! Checked out my daily email from Circuit City---They have cards from 1 to 8GB--starting at $7 online--wonder why the one from the Cannon store was so expensive? I'm not going to any shows til Feb--so I have plenty of time to pick one.

phoebesviolets - Do you have a Walmart nearby? Go to their camera department, and see if they have the 2GB SD (Kodak) for $7.00. Why pay extra for shipping on a card, that may have less memory? The one I got yesterday seems to be working just fine. If you don't have a Walmart nearby, let me know and I'll go pick up a 2GB for you.
Oh, how cute! I'm still having lighting issues, too.
You are doing great with the new camera. Keep on shooting and playing for effect and images you like. It all comes together for you in about ten years. LOL I've been working with the grandson and his sports. That is a different challenge but still a simple learning curve. On the ten scale to success and excellence I think I may be up to five some of the time. I've had my camera for two years and still consider it new. Each time I add a new lens we start all over with a new and better flash to get out there and capture shots that are in the gyms of the area each with different available light.
As for the exercise equipment being tucked away my problem is a bit different. Four friends and I bought a defuct real gym, refurbished it and have it working pretty good. I still find the road to the front door full of bumps. I get there twice a week and find my sweats to hard to slip into many days. Always challenges and problems to work on. I would have been better off just buying a membership.
LOL! Not sure if this new hobby is going to lenghthen or shorten my life, or if I even have 10 years, but it is as much fun as it is frustrating, and I am determined to improve! Keep trucking to that gym! I'm counting on you to help me move up that scale. HO-HO-HO! Merry Christmas!
