I have finished creating the calendar. You can see it and buy a copy for yourself right here:
http://www.zazzle.com/davesgarden*
Note, it seems that for today only, Zazzle is offering free shipping. So, if you are planning to get a calendar, I suggest you order today!
Photo contest calendar is now ready to purchase!
Addendum: To get the free shipping today, enter "CYBERZSHIP08" as a coupon code at checkout.
Dutchlady1, you're getting a free one anyway. :)
Here's a link to their current specials--looks like they've got calendars 40% off right now, as well as some other discounts if you spend a certain amount of $$. http://www.zazzle.com/coupons Their specials change on a regular basis so if you miss one it'll probably be back again, or there'll be another one.
I wish I knew that was coming. I ordered calendars for the winners on the 1st!
That's a bummer! You're not alone though--I always feel like I'm missing something anytime I order something from them, seems like the day after I order they always have a better sale on whatever it was that I bought!
That's not the way I would do business...
I can't find the calendar...
When you click on the link in the first post in this thread, the calendar should be the first product listed.
It was the first item listed a couple days ago but that changed yesterday...Try this...

thank you!
Thanks Dave.
I just ordered my calenders, and I think you did an excellent job of putting it together this year. Thanks to the canny DG'er's knowing how to find the discounts (nod to ecrane), I was able to afford to get one for all my siblings (Gabe & Yana too!) and Barbara.
I'll have beautiful photos to look at for not just an entire year, but forever!
Most of all, thanks to all the photographers that entered their photos in the contest. Dave couldn't do this calendar without your contributions!

Dave, the Calendar is beautiful. Thanks
You and I both, Dutchlady. I bought several calendars, too. Oh, well. It is a beautiful calendar, if I do say so myself. Way to go, Dave!
Zazzle is pretty good about running specials. Depending on how much time you're willing to risk, waiting a few days may snag you another free shipping or other discount offer. (They will email the specials to you if you sign up.)
I know this is off the subject. But the new Daves Garden Calendars are ready and he has a link to it on the home page. But what you may not know (thanks ecrane) , is that all of the calendars are 40% off and the sale ends today. They are so pretty, hurry and order if you want some. I'll be posting this on a few of our threads.
Next time I will know not to buy anything until it goes on sale. This is the first time I have bought anything from Zazzle and didn't really understand how they operate. I hope that their shipping is what they claim. I already found one discrepancy between my printed invoice and their e.mail confirmation. I paid more for trackable shipping and they claim it is not trackable altho they charged me for it on both invoices. My printed one says "trackable". I don't know if this is a problem yet which is why I haven't worked it out with them. Just something I noticed. Buyer's Remorse.
Caveat emptor! Let the buyer beware! I haven't checked on my order yet roybird, but will check to see about the trackable shipping, and whether or not it works. I paid for that too! Let you know if I get the same response.
I was really happy to be able to take advantage of the sale prices, and they also discount if you buy more calendars. I wouldn't have been able to afford buying as many as I did if they didn't have the special going.

I just went to the site and was able to get two of the specials: 40% off the price of the calendars and shipping for just $1. The 40%-off code is CALENDARSAVE, and the $1 shipping code (for orders of over $45) is ONEDOLLARGRD.
me too Zuzu. Thanks , I thought the sale ended yesterday. I just ordered.
The calendar is BEAUTIFUL! I ordered one from Zazzle today. Although not advertised on the site, I typed in the code 6AC547EE and was given a discount. Thanks, Zuzu.
I was supposed to get free shipping, but they charged me for it. They also said on their site that you could only use one of their codes to get a discount, you couldn't use more than one in conjunction with your order. Mine does not have the tracking feature, although I did remember clicking on it, since I had to pay anyway. Oh well.
The calendar is gorgeous and worth the extra.
WIB,

My order arrived today. All is well.
What an absolutely gorgeous calendar!
Mine arrived today. Well done everyone!

I ordered through Zazzle and used my personal credit card. I just checked online and there are no orders on my card other than ones I placed myself.
I checked the site and they say this about that:
Q: Is my information secure when I place an order on Zazzle.com? Print Answer
Email Answer
A: Safe Shopping Guarantee
Your credit card transactions are 100% secure. Period. Our secure server software (SSL) is the industry standard for encrypting all payment information. Your data will arrive privately and unaltered to our server and no one will gain access to your personal information.
If you are still concerned about ordering online, please call us at 1-888-8ZAZZLE (892-9953) and we will be happy to complete your order over the phone.

I did not see a padlock when I did a sample shopping cart purchase, it may be that I did not go far enough through the process as I'm in 'spending lockdown' but they have other site secure type symbols.
drapelady, please let us know how this turns out, we should not smudge Zazzle if it's not them. Thanks.

Mary McP, I deleted my above post for clarification. The bank and Master Card have to do an investigation. He said that when I made an online order using my debit card that it opened up a lead.generator that allowed someone to get my info and use my name and card number, but they changed the phone number and email address. And Zazzle was the only online debit card purchase I made. The charges range from 97.00 on down. It is 18 different sources all with different charges. Alot of the charges are for only a dollar and pending. In other words the transactions will come thru later with their amounts. We closed or blocked my card, so hopefully they wont be able to come thru and or, as per the bank, may drop off. The only reason I posted this, was not to smudge anyone, but rather to send a warning out for our membership to be careful this buying season. The lady that was ahead of me at the bank had the same problem and the branch co manager said this is happening alot right now. And I called the number above for Zazzle and he said that they do have a secure site, but as we all know and now I know first hand, anything can be hacked. Also the man at Zazzle said he will get their techs on it immediately. So to sum it all up, safe shopping and keep an eye on your accounts.
Excellent - you have handled this very well. Thanks for the heads up. It's always been a jungle out there - in tough economic times, the jungle gets overpopulated!
I will keep an eye out for strange charges on the credit card. We use only one card for on-line purchases.
I've bought from Zazzle a number of times over the last couple years and have never had any issues. You do definitely need to be careful online though, there are people out there who have various ways to steal CC #'s--I had my Discover card number stolen about 6 months ago, no idea which site it got stolen from because I had bought a number of things from a number of different places in the time frame when it happened, but they were all places that have secure websites and most of them were places that I've shopped with before so I still don't know exactly what happened. The thing to do is make sure you have a CC that's on top of these things--Discover called me about the suspicious charges right away, closed the account immediately once I confirmed that I hadn't made those charges, and I was never responsible for anything. It was all very hassle free (except for not having my Discover card for a few days while they mailed me a new one).
I no longer use a bank debit card online on advice from a lady at my bank after an episode I had with those illegal pending charges after an online purchase. I didn't lose any money (fortunately, I just happened to check my account just after these things appeared, which helped some), but it just wasn't worth the hassle. Had to cancel my debit card and fill out a bunch of paperwork at the bank. I have a new debit card, but I'm more careful where I use it.
Is there some difference between using a debit card on line vs a credit card?
Check this out. They don't both offer the same protection. One thing I was also warned about is using debit cards to buy gas. For one thing, some places routinely put a hold on X dollars in your account before you pump your gas. That hold is normally what they consider a maximum amount they think could be used. As the hold sticks around a while before it's actually replaced by what you actually used for your gas, it will affect your available balance.

Yeah, I noticed that with a gas station my DH liked to use. I asked him to switch to another one, which he did. I hated that. They put a hold on $50 or something when he only got $15 in gas. I may be exaggerating here, it was about 6 months ago so I don't have the exact details anymore. Just know I thought it was a nasty piece of work from the station.
Thanks for the link, I'll check it out when I have more time.
I work for a major credit card company and worked in investigations for about 5 years. Purchasing on the Web is safe enough if you are shopping at a well known protected site. My VP has one card used ONLY on the Web. If its compromised, the culprit is pretty easily discovered. You would not believe the talent out there for creating fraud and ID theft. One case centered around fraudsters pirating a very old site, refurbishing it, and putting it out there for purchasing transactions... all for the sole purpose of collecting info in order to make counterfeit cards which are sold all over the world. Its huge. Just know your merchant, well. MaryMcP is correct its a jungle. Always has been. We anticipate, with the economic slowdown and cash being scarce, lots of fraud coming down the pike. Just be careful.
JMHO but it could be less safe presenting your card to a waiter in a restaurant.... skimming. And make sure that when you put your card in an ATM that the reader is really the reader you think it is, as in attached to the bank and not a removable device used to collect numbers.
LindaTX8 is pretty much correct. The card transaction at a gas station is initially calculated at about $50 by most companies. Its in the system. Caused a problem when gas was priced so high. Gas purchasing is huge for CC companies. Soon the correct charge hits the acct.
Some merchant sites don't allow debit card transactions. Some.
Guess before this is over, we will be back to money in the mattresses and cash only and money orders. That's a shame, cause I love using my debit card. If you keep up with it , it is so convenient. I went back to the bank yesterday to check on everything , hoping that everything had dropped off. No such luck. They are still coming in. We closed my account and the man at the bank said I would get all of my money back in my account, it would just take time. Geeezz. We have used the same card for 12 years and have never had a problem. Sad times now a days.
