Confused old member

I get really discouraged now as many times when I open DG I go to the 'Home Page" with so many things listed on it. This doesn't always happen, usually when I open DG my "watched Forums" come up - this is how I like it. But there is so much on the "Home page" that I just get lost.
It took me a long time today to finally find the forums listed and then had to log in. Normally I don't need to "Log in" as I never log out. I was waiting for a reply to one thread that I had started, but I don't know if the Home Page will show a reply or DMail - I hope so.
Do others have this problem?? Life used to be so simple.

I think the reason you had trouble finding things on the home page was because you were logged out, now that you're logged in again everything should look like it always has. Have you (or someone else) cleared out the cookies on your browser lately? That's usually the only reason I ever have to log in so hopefully that's not something that should happen to you very often. As far as your thread and dmail as long as you're logged in those alerts should show up on your home page just like they always do.

Every so often, there will be a "glitch" that logs me out. Has not happened for quite some time tho. But once in a blue moon, I will have to look up my password and log back in.

No one else has touched my computer for awhile, it was ok yesterday, so maybe it was just a glitch. I have never logged out in 7 years! Thanks for the thoughts, I just hope this won't be a permanent change..... It seems ok now.

That "home page" sure would discourage me if I were seeing DG for the first time. Really spoiled after getting stuff set up the way I like to see it. My security software clears out my cookies fairly regularly so I now have to log back in ever so often.

I think it's kind of interesting to log out and go see what it looks like to sign in again. Like most I stay signed in all the time but recently I had to log back in and I was surprised at everything that comes up when your not logged in. Azalea do you use firefox by any chance just curious?

No, I don't use Firefox, Dh doesn't want to use it.

It just happened again - had to log in!! I don't understand why this has started happening in the last couple of weeks, sometimes it works fine, sometimes I have to log in.

Darn - I was reading another thread, and when I went back to "Home" - I had to log in again - this really is getting irritating.

It sounds to me like your cookie settings somehow got changed--if you've got new security or anti-virus software or something like that it could have done that, or maybe you accidentally changed it when you were trying to do something else. Unfortunately I have a Mac with Safari browser which is most likely not what you have so I can't give you step by step directions on how to fix this--I think in Firefox and Internet Explorer there's a menu called "tools" and in it is something about preferences, and if you select that you'll be able to find your cookie settings on one of the tabs. Hopefully someone else here will have the same browser you do and can walk you through exactly what to do (or if not here, try the Computer Talk forum)
