Very nice pix! I wish my Tiny Wood Trail would bloom! It's grown into a nice 2" bush, but no blooms yet!

Gail - has yours bloomed yet?

Fantastic pictures everyone!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Very pretty pictures. I want them all. Plants that is, not pictures. ^_^

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I don't suppose anyone has found the "secret word" on the Violet Barn site lately? I can never find it! Mind, I do learn ALOT about things from searching each and every page!

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Way to grow ladies... The pictures are very pretty on a rainy day.... Jan sent me a tiny wood trail and I am thinking I still have it alive but with no name as I am not 100% it is it...
Hugs,
Susan

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Susan - don't forget, I sent you a Tiny Wood Trail or two, too - back in August, I think? Is that the same one you're referring to? Has it bloomed yet?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Nichole.........I gave a lot of plants to the ladies in the club. Tiny Wood Trail went to them. Sorry about that...............

Here is my very first Roulette Azure from leaf! So excited.......

Syru, here's the secret word:

it's down on the bottom.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

She has certainly taken her time blooming but now she has lots of buds, too!

Now, I have a beauty with no name. I got these tubers from Gary Mikita and she had no name. She isn't like Sinningia Seminole and she isn't like Gabriel's Horn. Jim..............RainGazer.........Goldleaf...............Keyring I need some help. She is gorgeous with her hot pink outer lip.

I am going to show her up close.

It took forever to upload because I just couldn't crop anything.................

Nice flowers, Gail. That blue and white is neat.. Love that pink too.

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

Gorgeous flowers ladies!!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

imadigger - you're fantastic! I spent the majority of my lunch today pouring over the site, and I was actually focusing on the "lessons"! The last "lesson" I got to today was "Streps by leaf". I was 2 lessons away! ^_^

(now I know how to "groom" episcias, so I don't feel like I missed out!)

Syrumani..............take a breath and say, "Good looking flower, Gail"................I can tell you are just so excited about your plants...................good going!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Gail--your strep is stunning. Why not send a pic of the sinningia to Gary if that is where it came from. Whichever it is, I love the color.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I posted on funwithgessies hoping that David would know from Dave's Violets..............if I find out, I will let you know.......she is the prettiest one I have ever had. (Gary wouldn't know........that is why he got rid of them.........because they didn't have an identity) He really specializes in streps, episicas, etc..........

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

deep breath That is a very pretty Roulette Azure, Gail! Love that color combination.

That being said, I'm pouting . . . :-(

I'm focused, that's all!

I feel like such a dufus! I've had my camera all this time, and didn't know it had a macro setting! (still getting a new one, though!) Isn't this picture cool?

OMG! Look at that Macro! ROTFLOL! You must be kicking yourself!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

That is hysterically funny and just like me.............only I am not focused on anything at any time..........smiling. Don't pout, just giving you a hard time for your total devotion and effort to learning. You can give me a hard time for being so laid back about it................

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Just imagine how much better the same shot will be with an 8.0MP camera!

Oh, Gail - I'm only partly pouting at you.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

YEAH! We'll show them, won't we! LOLOL ^_^
What was that a pic of anyway--begonia?

It is a picture of a baby iron cross begonia, that is growing from a rhizome.

Morning All,
Just stopping in before work.... Nice picture you have there with that micro.. ^_^ I lost all of my begonias as I forgot they were outside under the Maple tree... Oh well will get more later... I am changing my name on here and hope to hear back from the bosses here later on it... It will be I hope TurtleChi... I am tired of always using names with my name in it... So I love turtles and Chihuahua's so put it together....
Ok going to take my bath and get ready for work... Talk to you all later and keep them pictures coming... I love looking at them... I have a few buds coming up on my streps and I can let these grow now....So soon I will have some pictures.
Hugs,
Susan

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

TurtleChi--I love it! Sorry to hear about your begonias.

Ellerbe, NC(Zone 8a)

Wow! I go away for one day and this thread runs away from me. Great pictures everyone.
Syrumani, Great pictures, that black background really makes the flowers POP.
Gail, gorgeous streps as always. Really love that Azure Roulette. Love your Noid Sinningia too. Beautiful color.
Goldleaf, LOVE that Fire & Ice. Nice!
Imadigger, I love your Annabelle. I adore bell blossoms. I just found Isabelle at Lowe’s last weekend. Do you have that one too? If not maybe we can trade leaves.
Phoebe, great pictures. You sure have a lot of nice violets. I just got a Tiny Moon Godess, that’s a micro-mini isn’t it? That one purple and white NOID sure looks like Optimara Cora. They are being sold in all the stores so Maybe it’s Cora. Peppermint Girl is just the most precious little violet. Got some leaves down. Hopefully I’ll have babies soon.
Susan, LOVE your new DG ID. Turtle Chi…….cute.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

av_ocd_girl, love your blooms, especially Celestial Guidelines. is it a strep?
As for Isabelle AV, I have two leaves rooting (I 'borrowed' them from another, when I bought Annabelle. LOL I will definitely send you a few leaves of Annabelle in the spring. In the meantime, I'll try to root some when I trim her. I'll make a note to myself so I don't forget. Old brain aint what she used to be.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Spiritual Corridor is very pretty!

Here is a theoretical question for you guys . . . say a tray holding 7-8 AV's (ranging from 2 1/4" - 3" pots) was dry, and needed water. This 1020 tray was sticking about 4" off the side of a shelf. Water is added to the tray - and the tray tips over and falls about 3' to the floor, making a bit of a mess. If one of the AV's lost most of its soil, and a person had no more soil to fill it with . . . do you think rinsing off the roots and putting the plant in a mix of perlite/vermiculite would work until said person could get her hands on more soil?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

wish I could help you, Nichole, but I don't know.

Celestial Guidlines is to die for! I have always kept Spirtual Corridor as she is a favorite of mine.

Peridot's Darth Vadar is another to die for plant and yours is so pretty.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

If it was me, I would keep what ever mix is attached to roots and put it in a mix of 2 perlite and 1 vemiculite. I think it's better to put the little guy in something. Just hurry up and go get some potting mix, and then re-do when you can. I'm not that knowledgeable about them, but it's better than nothing. I'd hate to lose it.

South, TX

AV girl, the pictures are so pretty!
