OH my Nanny I wonder what #100 will be...... how neat would a turkey on Thanksgiving be??? (have you seen one before?)

GREAT pics everyone, it's been a while since I've been on so it took me a while to catch up.

Here's a great blue heron taking off when I got too close

NM_Jane,
Your Snow Geese are so pure white. By the time they reach Alaska, the head and upper neck are a rusty red/brown, colored by algae in the feeding grounds along the way.

Fox Island, WA(Zone 8b)

I think this is a palm warbler.... new bird for me! (Correct me if I am wrong)
Edited to say it is a PINE warbler not palm - thank you Resin!

I wish I could comment on each and every post, but every time I do that, I end up being so verbose that I run out of time and lose the lot. So, may I simply say fabulous shots one and all and congratulations on number 99 nanny.

I took this shot (and several others) of a Rainbow Lorikeet less than two hours ago in the Illawarra Flame Tree in our backyard.

This is a very contrasty shot, but these are the feet of an adult Eurasian Coot.

Quoting:
I think this is a palm warbler

Pine Warbler - note the yellow 'spectacles' (showing in the second pic) and the largely whitish underside of the tail (basal half of the tail black underneath in Palm Warbler).

Love the Pine Warbler underneath the Pine branches, very pretty shot.

Marlton, NJ

This Blue Jay spied from the upstairs window...they have been getting some mixed tree nuts a couple of times a week. They seem to really like them too!

Congrats Nanny, I hope you get your 100th for the year.

Its been so cold here that I'm getting a lot of birds on the peanut butter log. Low 20s in the morning is very unusual for November here. Here's a red-bellied woodpecker. (taken thru a very dirty window.)

Yellow-bellied sapsucker, only the 2nd I've seen here.

Pine warbler.

I also saw a female bluebird on my beautyberry in a pot on the back deck. She flew away when I went to get the camera. Darn!

Nice pics guys!

Nanny my Blue Jays just stuff themselves with those tree nuts.

Beclu, Love those pics; I haven't seen a sapaucker in a long time. Do you put straight peanut butter in the log?

Dacula, GA(Zone 7b)

Hi Pelle, Its crunchy peanutbutter. Straight from the jar.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I have been putting PB on one of the trees and even the crows "cling" to eat some. Very funny looking!

So far at least, we do not seem to have as many House Finch this year.

I was out yesterday in the park (Huntley Meadows) in VA and these are some of the shots I got. My first ever the Pileated Woodpecker. Saw the Woodpecker, well actually heard him 1st, and then tracked it by observing flying bark. He/she was high up in the tree and these are the best images I could get.

Whew heres the last pic for now. Sorry for hogging the thread but I was so excited to see, and most of all to get some quality shots, of these birds. Here's the Nuthatch dive bombing the feeders. This is how it was while I was at the wildlife center. These birds know where the food source is.

Hey Jane that's a might wing angle shot of the birds. What lens did you use for that shot?

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

Beclu77 can you provide some info on your perch, log etc. Did you make that? Just curious because I may be interested in doing something similar.

Thanks
