Well #4 is posted for viewing! Just reversed the fabrics used on the green Santa giving him a shimmery gown and velvet vest and hat. It is so much fun trying to come up with new combinations of fabrics and looking for new trims!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Phyllis and Trisha, those Santas are so pretty. I need to get my foot a little better, so I can get back to my sewing machine. Love all the colors, and trims you all are coming up with. Keep going, we will be waiting.

I have to say, I sure am impressed with all your works of art..some ideas I'll be incorporating in my own...such a bunch of talented women..now there are some who I've sent kits to that have not posted either for help or to show us their santa's...do hope all is well with them...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I am looking for a MRS santa face? Is there such a thing? Can you point me in the right direction please?
Thanks

Not sure Linda..I'll be on the lookout though..am sure there is....

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Mrs Santa!!??? Yes please!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I may go and look for doll that has a face I can take off and use? Any suggestions? LK

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

LK, look in the Christmas tree ornament sections. I bought several santa 'heads' that are ornaments and the face is about the same size. You won't need the styro ball because you will have the whole head. Haven't had the time to work with them yet, but am thinking I will cut off the ugly beard/hair/hat and start over with new hair.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

Ann Marie, I'll be thinking of you today. Nope, wouldn't want to be in the hospital for any holiday, either - but you have lots of friends here who will fuss if you don't behave and do what you need to do to get well. Check in when you can and let us know how you are doing. (((hugs)))

thank you all for the much needed prayers. they sent me home with a blood pressure monitor, and hospital is a five minute drive. DH has strict orders from the doc...so he is watching me like hawk right now! worse than the nurses in the hospital! grr! lol!

just logged on to wish all my dg family a wonderful gobble gobble day!

oh, and family? I have 8 kids and 5 bros/sis and several inlaws and they only let in two at a time. and wouldnt let my DGS come in the room :( I couldnt miss his first thanksgiving!

I think being in the hospital was making me more sad and depressed and that was causing blood pressure to go even lower... its been up a little since I came home....so maybe they will let me stay here instead :o) will have to see how the day goes.

sure hope to get those santas done THIS christmas! LOL! if not, may have to do a christmas in july instead :o)

happy thxgiving to all you USA dgers and happy, happy day to everyone else.

{{hugs to all}}

Here is my first Santa. I have additional decorations to add, but I feel like there is something missing. I have looked for something to use as a belt or sash, but haven't found anything. I am thinking of making a vest from the same green that I used on the gloves and the trim on the hat. Anyway, I am open to all suggestions.

I will post another picture when I have completely finished.

Thanks,
Sheila

He looks awesome. Nice trimmings, but maybe just a bit more fatter? Love the hat and little bell.

He's beautiful, Sheila! You did a great job with the green trim and braid. I don't think he needs anything else but a green vest might be just what you need to feel he's complete.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Sheila I think he is beautiful! I love the trim.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Wonderful looking Sheila!!!!
Dang I wish I would have thought of it last week I was in Houston/ Humble helping my daughter move into her apartment we could have meet up in person..love meeting Dgers

Okay, here is my finished Santa. Don't know why it took me so long to finish...One thing I did figure out is that if you don't like the way the robe is hanging (particularly if your fabric is rather stiff), then glue it in spots to the stand. That allowed me to make it pleat in the area that I wanted it to, not where the fabric seemed to want to. Anyway, I'm sure others have thought of that, but it took me awhile.

Here's the full front view.

Here's a close up of his face and hat. I stole the idea of adding eyebrows.

Phyllis I love the Fabric's on that one! Bet she was one Happy Girl!!!

Houston, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks everyone. I found the basket on ebay. It originally had a lid, but that made it too big, so I took it off. It was for an American Girl doll.

shucks, lost this thread omg now I have to go back and look at all the wonderful santa's you've created..are you all as pleased as I??? hope so...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Shuggins just love the santa's...I especially like that you added embellishments to his back..who would have thunk it..lol...truly works of art...

some of my girls took greenery and made a wreath and hung it over his shoulder, it also was a nice touch..

I would love to show them this thread but will refrain, maybe another time, only because I provide everything for the kits and couldn't possibly let them use their own imaginations with types of material, greenery, design etc. after all it's only a 4 hr. course...lol

Liz, saw your post on the view thread...love them..now will they be given away tomorrow when your company comes? how special!

I'm just as thrilled as can be...

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'll have to really put my thinking hat on for the '3rd. Annual Christmas' DG on-line workshop don't you think...

I could say this one was a 'success' .. still more to come though right?

Look forward to viewing them..

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I can say once my daughter gets back home and takes one of the red ones to the gal that let her stay in her apartment til she got into hers as a thank you I'll probably have a few more to make.
not sure if DD is going to keep hers at home or take it to put in her office at work

but until pay day I am taking a rest from Santa and working on some other gifts for my mom

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are santa'd out right?

I just counted all the faces I need....11 for Suzanne and Monday 7 and then Fri. 4 soooo total of 22..if I use some of the faces that santa had no hair (finished look is the same) then I've enough and can put the molds away..tired of seeing those little critters..lol

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Oh I wouldn't say that yet just have to wait til pay day to get more stuff and I have to get the other stuff done first now LOL

the hairless head worked just fine I think they would be fine to use so you can put the molds away LOL

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Now we must start designing a Mrs. Santa? An Elf? Snowman? Rudolph!!!!

At least I finished my flowers for tonight...such as they are.....
