This is the first flock of Red_winged Blackbirds I have ever seen. I would say 9 out of ten were either juvenile or female birds.

I enjoy all your pictures, but the threads go so fast that sometimes I miss a lot, too. You know, life and work get in the way of fun sometimes...

Thank you, Nanny for your response about the berries and the cedar waxwing.

Hey...Brown Creeper was here this morning!! Through the window because it is very cold here today. LOL

Lucky you nanny! I was just outside; all birdbaths are frozen.

This weather is so nuts considering it was 70 degrees just over a week ago here.

I'm asking for a heated birdbath for Christmas for my feathered friends. :-)

Yay Nanny. I guess that is not #100 though!

Nice Pelle!!! I'm putting out my heated dog bowl today.

Nanny, the shot to which you referred to as 'fuzzy' is actually quite good. Those little creepers are quite like chameleons. Lee

Hello all. I started a new Daily Pic volume 156. The link below will get you there.

Life list did reach 100...remember I had forgotten to write Canada Goose in my notebook.

List for the year 2008 is at 96...

Brown Creeper is not a new one...on to the new thread!!

Anchorage, AK(Zone 4a)

The snow flakes here aren't nearly as big as those in Pelle's photos yesterday, but those white streaks are fine snow flakes. As for light, I shot this at ISO speed 400, F-stop 3.7, at 1/60 sec., from 10 feet. Then I used maximum photo enhancement to process the shot. This is why I'm fantasizing about heading south, to Hawaii, for a little bird watching.

Whoops! I posted on the old thread by mistake.
