A Black-capped Chickadee photo, I took out the kitchen window today.
Daily Pictures Vol. 155
Thanks for starting the new thread Gary. Boreal is quite brown compare to the Black-Capped. He's a cutie.
Rose to answer your question on the last thread about, if the birds I posted stayed all winter? The only one that doesn't stay is the Goldfinch. They will be leaving here soon.
Mrs-Ed I like how that Goldfinch was taken.
Hairy Woodpecker
I was at one of the local parks near the wildlife center. I turned the corner and this what I encountered - Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker. It shocked me because I was looking in the trees for the Chicadee so I was rushing to get the shots before it flew off and as you can see there were some little branches in the way which was causing the autofocus jump on me because it was trying to focus on those branches.

While at the same wildlife center inside they had several birds of prey. I thought this was a nice couple. Picture is not the best because I had to shoot between the cage. The female Barn Owl was imitating me as I was playing around and swinging side to side. I wonder if he got jealous of me see how he's looking at me.

That phoebe is so cute!
they probably think there are tasty bugs back there!!!
Great birds, everyone.
Nanny, (from the previous thread) are you going to count the "Glodfinch" as number 98?
I met a lovely lady yesterday who has given me the all-clear to prowl her driveway to get shots of the New Holland Honeyeaters. Here's one. I like how the red off the flower reflects on its chest.

Nice bird! Now what's that red thing flapping around
ah, yes, i see now.
Nope, I went to the river and no eagle when I went. DH said I'd have to go down there early in the AM, but I told him there was not enough light for taking pix. So I went to the park nearby. TWO mallards!!! sheesh! not a good day at the river.
Thanks Elphaba. I'll admit to be fairly pleased with the shots.
Nanny, don't change anything you're currently doing. I love a good laugh. Nice Blue Jay.
Pelle, what a funny sequence. The last shot is a stunner.
