The boys finally arrive in Havelock!

Havelock, Canada

Another one that DH just couldn't resist playing around with.

And the final one that he photo-shopped! I guess I have to allow his playing since he was good enough to chauffeur us.

I'll post more of Havelock tomorrow. Have the day planned for the boys. Now to go and get after that tailor! Bullwinkle still snores. Between him, Otis and DH's snoring it sounds like a trio of buzzsaws!

Back later tomorrow with more fun!

Looks like a fun day. So glad you had Bullwinkle restrained. You've seen how excited he gets around water. And the final one of Bullwinkle atop the twoonie sure fits his character. LOL Say "hi" to the lads for me and tell them I miss them.

Ann

Havelock, Canada

They were talking in their room the other night and I overheard them saying that they missed you Ann. They like your music better than what I play here and you have such interesting stuff. I think one of the gnomes, probably Ernie, was crying when he said, "Remember that fun lady with the pretty music? I wonder if she misses us as much as we miss her?"

I'll be sure to tell them that you miss them too and that you said hi.

The banner works well with knitting needles as supports. Off to the tailor.

More tomorrow.

Hi Elaine:

Wow - what a full time you are having. You sure seem to find an awful lot in that two blocks you were telling us about

I'm so glad the boys made it there. There was the holiday for Remembrance Day, then there was some kind of a job action here with the inside postal workers, and I did wonder if they would ever get there. Poor kids - rattling around in that box for so long.

I was going to mention the loose button in the box in case you needed it for your design strategy, but someone beat me to it (not hard these days).

What happened to Bullwinkle's nose? Did I miss something somewhere?

Another fun thing we could do on this trip - keep track of the different prices CanPost charges us. I forwarded the boys in exactly the same box and with exactly the same packaging that I got them in, from Ann, but the postal charge was different. Now, isn't that ridiculous? I wonder how many times that will happen.

LOVE the scarf and earmuffs!!! Too cute - and so snuggly looking.

I hope you have as much fun thinking up things for the boys to do as I did. I'd love them to come back through in the summer, since then I could go to Edwards Gardens, the ravine, and lots of other places I didn't have time to go or the weather would have made it too miserable.
Ear scratches to Otis, too

Marilyn - was your postage a bit less? Mine was less that what Marilynne paid, but I think the postage goes by zones so that those sending the lads a shorter distance pay a bit less. Also, the number of days promised varies. I think Marilynne or Sandy said it was promised at 4 days (got there faster) and for me to send them to Toronto, it was promised at 3 days and also got there faster when you consider that they are talking 'working days' and I send them on Friday and you got them on Monday.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Again .. great pics .. whatcha don't LEARN when you don't have GNOME and Moose .. never knew about the Twoonie .. that's quite the big likeness of it ..
Your DH is wonderful with paint shop :-)

I paid $9. ?? to send the boys from here to just outside Ottawa .. they arrived in about 4 days. As Ann said, it is such a variable from postal area to postal area ..
Course now with their wadrobe accompanying them the weight may fluctuate a tad ..

Enjoy

cybercrone- I think I overstated Bullwinkle's nose problem. Some of the stitching had come loose and when I probed the nostril, most of the threads were still intact. Since I didn't have any embroidery thread the same colour, I opted to do a moosoplasty LOL.

I obviously miss my girls because they provided me with lots of projects. I am a mediocre seamstress at best but wait until you see them decked out in their winter duds. I tried to use lightweight material since I know that would increase the shipping costs. I think, when I die, I will leave my brain to science and they can have a good chuckle at my thought processes, once the spark enters my wee brain. Ha ha.

The boys are joining in Otis' first birthday celebration today and I am making peanut butter biscotti. Might try to make some in the shape of dog bones?????? Just have to leave out the whole nuts. Meezersfive was kind enough to post the recipe in Parking Lot. Otis had a bit of tummy trouble this morning but is back to his old self, so any treats will come later in the day.

Will post more pics tomorrow. And yes, they will be all Havelock pics. I have a few spots in mind and then will take them with Otis and myself into the woods. We try and get to one of the two wooded areas around here, daily. Perhaps we'll be lucky and see a deer or two. There are several around here.

Have a great weekend everyone and will post the antics of the troublesome trio when I can.

God Bless

geeze - cost me $15 to ship to Marilynne! hmmmmm
Well, 'tis all in the name of FUN lol
I'm so glad the boys came here, I had a lot of funn :-)

Havelock, Canada

The boy and I had a busy afternoon.

Lots of fun pics coming later tonight. First late dinner and then downloading and resizing the pictures. I don't mean to brag but I think the pictures will be worth waiting for.

Sorry that I haven't been up to posting. Got kinda sidelined with health issues. Wait until you see their winter outfits....................................................................

Elaine - enjoyed your first batch of pictures - looks like the boys are having a ball! Hope you're feeling better.

Hi all!

Just able to post a few pics tonight and will do more tomorrow evening. Neck is just too troublesome tonight. Grrrrr.

Here are the boys in their winter coats and hats. Check out their little mittens!

Havelock, Canada

Here they are with all their winter wear. Of course they won't need their ear muffs with their hats until they hit some nasty winter weather.

Bullwinkle slept in his coat and hat last night. He just loves them and it is a struggle to get him to take them off.

Oops! That pic was when Bullwinkle pulled down Ernie's ear muffs, trying to provoke Ernie. I will post a better pic.

Here is a picture of Ottawa Street and our Turkey in the Straw ha ha. Actually, they are hay bales that transform into a snowman soon.

And just one more - then I will post the rest tomorrow. Here are the boys taking a break on a bench near the Visitor's Centre.

Be back tomorrow. You will enjoy their walk in the woods and all the other fun things they have been doing.

I have to console Bullwinkle. You wouldn't believe how many bags of mini marshmallows Bullwinkle has eaten. He just found out that they are called
"Marshmallows" not "Moosemallows." He is sobbing since he thought these were named after his species. Poor fella.

LOL on the Marshmallows. LOVE the winter gear. They are all set to go now. And if you are getting the snow that we are, they will need it.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Great pics Elaine ... if the boys keep tuckin in Marshmellows the postage is really gonna go UP !!!

The little outfits are sweet ^_^ .. OH .. I mean very handsome on the Lads .

Perth,, ON(Zone 5a)

hhmmmmm, was he eating the plain white mini marshmallows or the coloured ones?

One could pretend that the other ones are nicknamed Moosemallows....

Havelock, Canada

driven - You are a genius. I tried that tactic with Bullwinkle. Even bought a bag of the coloured ones and slipped a phoney label on them. They are now Moosemallows. Brought a tear to my eye when his sobbing stopped and he gave me a huge moosey grin although his little face was tear stained and his eyes were red rimmed. Poor moosey. So glad you thought of that solution. Will be back after my appointments in Peterborough. That will be this evening.

With thanks and Hugs for all

Great job on the boy's winter outfits, Elaine. They look really snuggly and warm. Very nice! ^_^

Victoria Harbour, ON

I am so laughing, how in the world will I equal their visit with you all...the outfits are just adorable...

Havelock, Canada

Wow. I am finally home and you can get caught up in the adventures of the troublesome trio.

BTW - Bullwinkle has a tummy ache. Do you think it was the two super-sized bags of Moosemallows that I found empty under his bed. He raided the cupboard when we were sleeping. He has such cushy feet that he didn't make a sound. We sure didn't hear him. He is quite the character!

These are several pictures of the fellas hanging out in the caboose that serves as the Baptist Church's office. We can see it from our backyard. It is only two houses away. Looks pretty at night when they have the lights on it.

Another view of the same caboose.

Bullwinkle kept singing, "The moose is in the caboose", then he would giggle and sing it all over again. It seemed like the song that never ends; over and over again.

And the front, or entrance of the church office caboose.

Then we went to the pharmacy. Ernie was flirting with this gal. She thought Ernie was adorable.

Havelock, Canada

Here are the fellas with some of the girls. The boys were all blushing since the girls were oohing and ahhing over them. One girl offered to take Dave to Mexico. I had to step in and say no. I explained that as far as I know they are just touring Canada.
Dave was not impressed with my crushing his hope to go to Mexico with a pretty gal and have his every desire tended to.

Thumbnail by Procrastinator
Havelock, Canada

Here they are with the girls again. I had to drag Dave out of there and Bullwinkle made me chase him around the counter. They caused quite a ruckus in the
Havelock Pharmacy. I forgot the halter that I was going to put on Bullwinkle. I won't forget the next time we go out.

Here they are in yet another caboose. Yes. I heard the song all over again. Bullwinkle was giddy with his, "The moose is in the caboose" again and again and again.................................................................................................................

This is the same caboose I showed earlier but the other end. It is right beside the Visitor's Centre.

This is a view of the turkey with the boys on it. You can see some of Ottawa St. or
Highway 7. They are both the same thing, just different names.

A picture of the Station House Restaurant. It used to be the train station when they had commuter service. Now, they just have freight trains. The fellas were hanging their heads out the window of the car as we were driving.

Thumbnail by Procrastinator
Havelock, Canada

The trains. We have a lot of them going through Havelock.

Bullwinkle really wanted to get in the caboose of this train and sing his song but I had to convince him that the woods would be fun.

Break time for the neck but I will continue pictures of their adventure later tonight.

Am LOL every time I tune in to this thread. Also thinking maybe someone should put together a book on the adventures of these lads. They sure are developing personalities!

Havelock, Canada

Another picture of the Station House Restaurant. Interesting about the renovations that were done on the building to make it into a restaurant. There was an old safe on the premises that nobody could open. They finally contacted a locksmith and he opened the safe. Lots of rather boring stuff in their but ledgers, payroll, etc.

It was only a few years ago that the renovation was made and the safe was opened.

A few pics of The Lawn Ranger. Looks so sad and barren this time of year :(
