Today being the 24th and Sylvia's surgery was on the 20th, anyone have a report? Sure pray she is recovering in record time with NO PAIN.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

No, but if I had read this earlier I would have tried to call her phone number. I will try tomorrow. She may be back home, but I don't know.

Christi.... Look here!!
My pink brug cutting had a bloom and I left it on and it bloomed!

That is beautiful Sheila.

Thanks Josephine. It began a couple days ago and I would have never thought it was going to be pink. It was a pale yellow at first. I will be interested to see what it and the other grow into next year. Thanks for sharing Christi.

Apparently that is common... my NOID pink Brug opens yellow. The first time I saw a bloom, I almost drove into a tree I was shocked to see that color! LOL

At least I wasn't driving....but my jaw did drop! lol! This is the first brug that I have had bloom, I may be hooked.

Beware of the Brug addiction! We love them till this time of year... grrrr

That's great, Sheila. After being so paranoid about mine, they are all blooming, some that had not bloomed until now. The plant at the very back of the greenhouse had not bloomed and now it has very large pure white blooms. The pink and yellow are still covered with blooms. Who'd a thunk?

Let us know about Sylvia.

Christi

Josephine, this is the native Texas turk's cap. It had already been cut down for the season. Should have left it as would probably still be blooming.

That is beautiful Christi, I noticed the cut stems when I was there, it looks great.

I had left my Turk's Cap until this weekend, but it wasn't blooming for a long time. It had gone to seed a month or so ago.

UPDATE on Sylvia......
She is home and has someone with her to help. She said her hip isn't hurting too bad but the leg below is really causing her pain. I would imagine it is nerve or circulation problems due to swelling maybe? One thing she is stressing over is a costly med that insurance won't cover, but the Dr insist she must have. Hopefully she will be able to get it all straightened out and on the road to recovery.

Thank you for the update Sheila, you are so sweet !!

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I had the same problems in the beginning and it took care of itself. The meds are a huge problem. We know that the first month is the worst.

I was looking through my old threads and found this one. It brought back a lot of good memories.
I hope it brings back good memories for you too.
Sharing with my DG friends has been a wonderful part of my life, thank you.

Josephine, thank you for bumping this up. It was shortly after I had back surgery. That is one of the days that stands out for me. After these last weeks with so much cold and ice I don't know what will survive.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Christi
