Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Fairy, made a note & have you covered on those 2... will edit probably this evening (can't now)... I'll be offline most of the rest of the day...

Happy Weekend, everyone!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

I'll send you a bunch of corn poppies, Neal. Are those the ones that can be sown now and covered due to germinating in darkness. Is that right?

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Stacey- those colors sound lovely.

C-dawg, that sounds great! I typically surface sow P.rhoeas, and pretty much any other poppy with good results.

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I'm still muddling thru all these posts, and Jill, say you mention the Blue/Purple Balloon Flower.

I have to go back an read thru the other thread then this one so I may my list has not been updated today yet. Mygypsyrose and Cheles_garden you have both asked for my Hummingbird Bush and I had only 1 trade I can split it if you wish... Both will have about 10 seeds give or take. PLMK if this is ok.

Stacey, don't know if you have enough, but if you can spare any more of those california poppies, I would love just a few seeds.

Yikes! This is a busy thread :) So, are there lists that haven't made it onto the list thread? I tried to go back and look, and just got overwhelmed I'm afraid...

Winterville, GA(Zone 8a)

chele,
thanks for the thunbergia alata seeds!

mygypsyrose- You asked, " They hit your mailbox 3 times? Is it a car or kids in the area playing mailbox baseball. I've seen the damage they can do. And they usually hit a mailbox over and over. My FIL's neighbor had enough of it so he put a smaller mailbox and cemented in a larger mailbox and found the shattered bat on the ground. Never had a problem again, though I'm sure it's not legal :-0"

They're just people not watching where they're going. The second time the guy actually stopped and paid for the damage. Bless him. The third time my DH was in our home office, heard the noise and saw a red pickup slow down then speed up. DH was so POd he jumped in the car and took off after him, but it was too late, the guy/gal must have been crazy scared and sped all the way home. That was when both mailboxes were knocked off.

Lala_Jane: I've never grown from seed before and I collected these from the park downtown. I afraid I don't know if they're viable or not...will have to check that out. I'll be disappointed because I harvested a lot of seeds.

Critterologist: I'd love to have the Kniphofia uvaria Red Hot Poker if you can add to my "stash" :-) Also, to answer your question about the Balloon Flowers being purple... they look purple to me. I posted a pic above. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=5792125

Edmond, OK(Zone 7a)

Heavinscent - perfectly fine to share with Mygypsyrose! :-) If I end up killing my 10 seeds I know who I can cry to. hee hee.

Pereniallme - got you some Freckle Face seeds

Fairy - put you down for snaps and white zinnia profusion

I am keeping my list updated so please let me know if I've inadvertantly missed something!

JoAnn, love that mailbox story with the shattered bat on the ground, LOL. Guess we do live in a goofy world where the vandals get by with it, and the homeowner who tries to prevent it gets sued, so good to be careful. Like the burglar who wins a settlement for hurting himself while breaking in to someone's home.

Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom

I hardly dare poke my snout in to this so busy thread, but please could anyone tell me the latin name of the Job's Tears grass? I'm creating a new Piet Oudolf-style prairie garden here in eastern England, and will need lots of interesting grasses.
many thanks,
Gill.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

That is my worst nightmare - someone taking out our mailbox - the nice ones are so darned expensive!

Simpsonville, SC(Zone 7b)

Olderbutwiser, is this what you mean?

North West, OH(Zone 5b)

I may regret this later (LOL) but I just added a bunch of new seeds too. The new ones are clear down at the bottom of my post under "ROUND THREE."

Edmond, OK(Zone 7a)

Gemini - Will you please add Consolida ambigua 'Larkspur, dark pink' & Ipomoea lobata 'Spanish Flag' to my trough? Oink!

Springfield, IL(Zone 5b)

Wahhhh! It is snowing here!! Big fat clumps, too, not just little flurries. Not. ready. for. this. :(

Okay, now that that's out of my system, I just want to let everyone know that if anyone else wanted some of the breadseed poppies, I have plenty more- they are just bagged in the freezer for cooking, but should still be viable. Just dmail me, and I portion some out for you:)

Edmond, OK(Zone 7a)

Lala - We're glad you did! Can you add Aquilegia Vulgaris "nora Barlow" & Mirabilis Jalapa (Four O'Clock) Hot Pink for me. Thanks!
~chele

North West, OH(Zone 5b)

OK you guys aren't following the rules. LOL. I stated on the list thread that in most cases there is only one of each variety and you're supposed to DMail me so I know who asked first. But since I'm still here I'll scroll up and see that Neal ask for the Nora Barlowe first (I'll see if the pack is big enough to split Chele but the 4'oclocks are yours for sure), the orange cosmos, moss rose, and poppies. Toofew already D'd me about one of the Love in a Mist packets.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

chele, your trough has been added to :-)

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Oh good grief, I don't know where I'm typing half the time- had it in my mind I did type that in dmail, LOL. Hmmmm....wonder if anyone is getting nonsense dmails!

Thanks, La, and just a few NB columbine would be fine with me, so split them up if you can.

Edmond, OK(Zone 7a)

Sorry Lala - I didn't mean to push & shove at the trough! oink oink Do we have you all messed up? I only want the pink 4 o'clocks & sharing the columbine nora barlow with Gemini........the orange cosmos, moss rose, and poppies go to Gemini as well. Ok, maybe I'm the one messed up! Ha! I'll ignore your thread Lala as I'm sure you know what you're doing.....need to get myself straight. hee hee Laughing at myself here.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Yes all my d-mails read oink oink oink What's that all about? JK oinkers : )

Star -- did you "fair" ok in the storms yesterday?? I was watching the radar....

Mount Laurel, NJ(Zone 7a)

Hi
Artemiss, I would love to try some of your breadseed poppies if you have any left :) Do you know what colors they are? I tried growing them last year but I didn't have good luck. What's your secret?

Thank you!
~Diana

Springfield, IL(Zone 5b)

They are white with lavender blotches..I'll upload a pic of them.

Last year was the first time I ever had any luck with poppies ever..and I sowed them in a prepared bed right before a big snow. From what I understand, the seeds need light, but because they are so tiny and tasty, they either get blown away or eaten before they germinate..sowing before a snow help press them into the ground and keeps the birds away.

Artemiss those are beautiful!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Sharon-I didn't list anything yet and didn't see Neal ask for any of those, so I guess I am a little lost!!LOL

Time to go look and see if peeps got me added:), THen need to get off here, make some wreaths and sort some seeds:)

Springfield, IL(Zone 5b)

Thanks!
Sadly, the place where I had them last year was where I ended up having to put my peppers, so most of them were pulled before the seeds ripened. The foliage starts to look ragged pretty quickly after the blooms are spent, but the pods swell up huge and take a while to ripen and mature, so I am hesitant to put them anyhwere too visible.
Next year I am thinking I will put them where I put tomatoes this year, and hope they get enough sun...
It's an ongoing project, learning what grows best where in my yard. Unfortunately, where we put the veggie garden ended up half-shaded once our neighbor's tree leafed out. The broccoli and lettuce did fantastic there, but I knew the peppers and tomotoes would not.

This year, the only tomatoes I am attempting will be a few cherry plants in my "cottage" bed. (apparently, as I learned from a neighbor and experience, there's some kind of blight/virus in our soil, and only a few resistant varieties will even grow..which is sad, because the few black from tula's I got before the plants succumbed were delicious)

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

LOL Fairy- I'm trying to use a teeny weeny bit of restraint!

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

artemiss- I think I have the same problem with soil and tomatoes here. This year I grew some in pots and they had no diseases so you might want to consider that as well. : )

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Neal-good luck after my list goes up!!LOL

I am looking for short Nicotania, no more than 18" and also Lime Green Nicotania to go with my avalon Apple Blossom I colllected seeds from....

Jamaica Plain, MA(Zone 6a)

Just added a few tiny bits of stuff to my list - hope noone is offended by the small quantities, but I bought teeny expensive packs of these seeds, so not many extras. On the other hand, considering my recent trough fillings, there are a few more in those packs than I can really deal with. oink. even a piglet can get full sometimes.
